My DW and I stayed at the Royal Pacific Hotel over the Labor Day weekend and LOVED it. We arrived on Fri afternoon and checked right in, no problems. We had a new trainee with trainer and they were very bice and got us in right away. They said our room was ready and we were in room 3705. We went to hit the floor number on the elevator but it would not stay on. We thought something was wrong so we went to another elevator and finally noticed we needed to put in our room key in and then hit the button. We were on the Concierge floor! WOW what a nice treat. Free continental breakfast, drinks and late night deserts.

It was great. We had only paid $99 a night and the bump us to club level for no particular reason. Maybe it was because we had the trainee or because irt was my DW birthday on Sun. We think it miht have been a mistake, but we weren't going to say a thing!

We loved the resort and thought that it fit us the best out of the three Universal hotels. We thought the HRH and Portifino a little stiff for us and that RP had a more relaxed feel. We enjoyed a couple of afternoons by the pool enjoying cocktai;s and the huge pool. Our server Natalie even suggested Witchdoctors. They were wonderful ut had quite a kick. We tried the Chocolate Martinis at the Orchid Lounge one night as the server there sat down with us to discuss what we should order.

We allso loved FOTL. We were able to see all the big rides (Dueling Dragons twice) from 4:15-6:45 and we did not rush. It was super. We had no problem with the one ride p[er hour thing as we worked our way around the park. It does seem a fair way to handle things for on sight guests. We also had a terrific meal at MYTHOS on Sat night. Awesome!!

My wife and I have been down to Orlando many times and this was one of the, if not the, best experience we have had. We are looking to book the Royal Pacific in the not too distant future!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

:D Thanks 4 the report. We hasve ressies 4 RPH in March and I've seen a couple neg. reports. First time staying onsite. We're so excited escpically about FOTL. My DH can't wait 4 Spidey. Thanks again!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We are staying RPR the end of Sept. I heard a couple of negatives also so thanks for you report. Im even more excited now--hope the next 12 days goes by really fast.

inmyis,

Thanks for the great review! Sounds like you had a lovely trip:) What a nice surprise to be upgraded!

What is in a "witchdoctor"? The chocolate martini's sound yummy!
Where did you have meals? What did you think of them?

Thanks for posting:)

Fan2CSkr,

The "witchdoctor" was a unique green dring. It was a just like a vodka collins with a test tube of melon Midori inside. You could mix them together or pull out the test tube and drink seperately. Quite a kick and cool looking.

We ate at some fun places too. The NASCAR Cafe had good homestyle cooking. My DW loved the pot pie served on a flky pastry. I enjoyed the BBQ chick. The atmosphere was OK but I thought it was actually too quiet. We enjoyed lunch at the Sunset Grill at HRH. A nice meal. DW really enjoyed the white pizza. We LOVED Mythos. It was very romantioc and the food and service superb. The beef was excellent and the chocolate desert was to die for, especially the Choc Creme Brulee. It was my DW birthday and they were very nice to her. It was like we were falling in love again. We are such saps. We met family at the Hard Rock Cafe and had a fun dinner. Fun atmosphere and good food. Breakfast at the RPH and irt was good. The waitress was a little crazed and that was distracting. ut the decor and atmosphere were very nice. We enjoyed the Orchid Lounge at night, that was where we had the Chocolate Martinis. Grey Goose Vodka is terrific. The plantain chips and cheese by the pool were great, to.

That's about it. Hope you check out the RPH on your next visit.

I'm so glad to read your great review. We'll be at the RPH in exactly 30 days!! Now I'm looking forward to it even more.
Thanks! :D

inmyis,

Thanks for all the wonderful info!

"It was like we were falling in love again. We are such saps." Thats very sweet;)

The witchdoctor does indeed sound cool. I have stayed at both Hard Rock and Portofino and really want to hear opinions on the food at RPR. Orchid Lounge will be on my list as will those plantains!

Thanks again:)
