My DW and I stayed at the Royal Pacific Hotel over the Labor Day weekend and LOVED it. We arrived on Fri afternoon and checked right in, no problems. We had a new trainee with trainer and they were very bice and got us in right away. They said our room was ready and we were in room 3705. We went to hit the floor number on the elevator but it would not stay on. We thought something was wrong so we went to another elevator and finally noticed we needed to put in our room key in and then hit the button. We were on the Concierge floor! WOW what a nice treat. Free continental breakfast, drinks and late night deserts.
It was great. We had only paid $99 a night and the bump us to club level for no particular reason. Maybe it was because we had the trainee or because irt was my DW birthday on Sun. We think it miht have been a mistake, but we weren't going to say a thing!
We loved the resort and thought that it fit us the best out of the three Universal hotels. We thought the HRH and Portifino a little stiff for us and that RP had a more relaxed feel. We enjoyed a couple of afternoons by the pool enjoying cocktai;s and the huge pool. Our server Natalie even suggested Witchdoctors. They were wonderful ut had quite a kick. We tried the Chocolate Martinis at the Orchid Lounge one night as the server there sat down with us to discuss what we should order.
We allso loved FOTL. We were able to see all the big rides (Dueling Dragons twice) from 4:15-6:45 and we did not rush. It was super. We had no problem with the one ride p[er hour thing as we worked our way around the park. It does seem a fair way to handle things for on sight guests. We also had a terrific meal at MYTHOS on Sat night. Awesome!!
My wife and I have been down to Orlando many times and this was one of the, if not the, best experience we have had. We are looking to book the Royal Pacific in the not too distant future!!
