DH and I just got back from WDW last night, and had to just write about these two restaurants. We ate at 50s before, but had an even more amazing meal this time.
50s PT: I had the stuffed pepper, and it was outstanding, the pepper wasn't overcooked, the smoked ratatouille was excellent again the veggies were still crisp and delicious - I will definitely get this again! DH had the fish sandwich and said it was fantastic! I had the apple cobbler for dessert - it was good, but not outstanding, the apples had way too much syrup, but the cobbler was delicious! DH didn't want dessert but asked if he could have a bowl of fruit, he had a huge bowl of fresh fruit with whipped cream, and was delighted!
Kona Cafe: We weren't planning to eat here, but we had to cancel our 'Ohana reservation for the night before because we were stuffed from breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. I couldn't get 'Ohana for Friday night so we chose Kona after reviewing the menu. I started with the shrimp coconut curry soup, excellent and filled with shrimp. DH started with the crab cakes, he said they were excellent. I enjoyed the NY strip steak, very tender and delicious. DH had the shrimp and scallops (3 shrimp, 4 scallops), he got the sauces on the side, didn't like the mango sauce but the roasted pepper was excellent. Oh and he subbed the sticky rice with mashed potatoes. Ended the meal with the coconut cream tart (me) and the chocolate cake (DH). Both were terrific! This is definitely staying on our dining list for next year!
Thanks! Hope this helps someone out...
