My 11 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Kim Possible missions in Epcot. We weren't very familiar with the process at first, but you go to one of the kiosks and sign up and they will give you a time to return to pick up your Kimmunicator which guides you through your mission. It takes between 20-30 minutes to complete. My daughter ended up doing 4 missions and then recruited her 14 yr old brother the next day and did 2 more plus repeated 1.:hippie: She really loved it. It was a nice leisurely day for me as well since I do not get to explore the country shops for very long before the whining sets in.:sad2: It was a great experience for all and I highly recommend it. do not think it is just for girls. We saw several families of boys following clues with their Kimmunicators as well.

How long do you typically have to wait until you can pick up the Kimmunicator? We are hoping to do this on our arrival day when we will get to Epcot around 12pm or so - we have dinner ADRs at 5pm and really want to get a mission in.
Also, would all ages be able to do this? Our DS is 4 and is really into being a "spy" or "detective" and solving mysteries and he thinks this is sort of what this is going to be like so he is really excited about it so I hope it is doable for him?
TIA!

My boys are stoked about this as it's something new for them in Epcot. Where do you sign up? Is there a lot of demand where you have to wait a long time to do one? Any other info will be appreciated. :goodvibes

The kiosks are located at the international gateway in the UK area one kiosk is in Italy one is in Norway one is on the Bridge from future world to the World showcase promenade and then there is one in each innoventions east and west. Whew...that was a lot. Only one person in your group has to swipe thier ticket to get a return time for a kimmunicator, Think fastpass.

To answer your question there is somewhat of a demand but they, disney, has thought of that. If there are a lot of people on mission in Japan, lets say, they will send you to Germany. And the best part is you can go through it at your leisure. I still don't think many people know of this even though they have signs everywhere. One cool thing they added while we were there in February was the ability to go on another mission as soon as you have completed one. Now I don't know if they will turn this on and off depending on the crowds but is was cool because you didn't have to get another time to get a new Kimmunicator.

Have fun it is one of the best non attraction attractions Disney has come up with in a long time. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 you get two thumbs way up on this one!!

Take pictures and be sure to share them with us!!

Any more questions just ask. I love this adventure.

Since the countries don't open until 11, that is the earliest time you can get for a mission. this is the time we got when we signed up at park opening. After 2:00, they are always "sold out". When we got a pass around 1, our time to begin was 4:15. The great thing is that if your time runs into your dinner reservations, you can hang on to the Kimmunicator while dining and then continue. there is no time limit. As for the battery, we spent over 2 hours one day with it and no battery issues. We stopped for character pictures, snax, etc during our missions.
at the end of each mission, you are given a list of countries you can choose for your next mission. Your choices depend upon how many other teams are in those countries at the time.
I think a 4-year-old would love it. all the clues are accompanied by pictures so reading is not required. I'm sure he will need some help finding each item in the beginning, but it will be a blast!!! The best is when you have to say a code phrase to a cast member to get a clue. they really play up the "secret mission" bit.

could you please explain this from start to finish? i think its something gd would be interested in as she loves kim possible but i'd like to know more first. what kind of missions, what do they ask. how do you know your done. is there a 'reward' for a completed mission. are you running all over the place or is there an order.
tia for your answers.

Is this for kids only? I'll be with a few friends who are on a very tight budget. Last time we went we did passports in Epcot (adults only) and they loved them. So I am always on the lookout for free activities to do with them.

So, would this be appropriate for fun-loving adults (we will have DS15 with us also)?

My DS 13 did this two weeks ago. You pick up your Kimmunicator (basically a cell phone with video capability) and they tell you where to start. You watch the little video -- it tells you to find something specific in a certain country. When you find that item, you press a button on the phone, watch some more video, get congratulated for getting that far, now find this. Sometimes you have to do something -- ask a cast member for something, press a button, open a door, etc. It's all radio controlled -- in one (and I won't give it away, I promise), your picture gets taken from a surprising place. As you go through the clues, you're trying to find the "bad guys" and prevent them from doing something. NOthing was too hard to find or frustrating for the kids. There are about 6 items to find in each mission, and it doesn't continue until you push the button signalling that you've completed that section. You can also repeat the information if you don't quite hear or understand. It was lots of fun! There's no prize at the end, but in at least one of the missions, we got a little treat.

I saw an elderly couple doing the missions as well and I enjoyed them myself, so any age would have a good time. when you find the clues, "things" happen around you hat are very entertaining. Each mission is confined to one country, so with older children, you can pick a spot to sit and they can find their clues. I, however, enjoyed finding them as well.

Can you "sign up" for a Mission when Future World opens or do you have to wait until World Showcase opens. If you are one of the first to "sign-up" for that day,can you request a specific Mission? Thanks.:)

you can sign up as soon as future world opens, but your mission time will be 11:00 at the earliest. I'm not sure about picking a mission, but I'm sure you could request. they are all great.

Thanks.I would think that would be the best time to get an early Mission with everyone else "zeroed-in" on getting to Test Track or Soarin'.:)With an 11:00 Mission, that would leave plenty of time to do several other Missions that day.Do you have to leave a Deposit for your Kimmunicator or can they "find" Guests from the "swiped information" on the ticket media?I saw a little video of the KPA on a promo on Disney Channel's Disney 365(I tried not to look too much so as not to spoil the surprises)and I think this "attraction" is only going to get more and more popular as the "word gets out".The technology in it is fascinating. It reminds me of Turtle Talk with Crush, which seemed to just "appear" one day with little fanfare and went on to become very popular. The KPA is an example of one of the MANY things that can ONLY be found at a Disney park.:)

I think that it sounds awesome...I remember seeing a commercial on 365 about it. I will definetly have to try this out for our DD9 when we go, because she really hates the WS, so maybe this will help make it more entertaining for her!

We just loved the Kim Possible missions! We did France, Japan, and China. My DD was really into it. See?

DD is 6 and can read pretty well (late 2nd / early 3rd grade level). If kids are non-readers or are just beginning, some adult help might be required for the harder hints.

The funniest thing was watching kids run all over going "OMIGOD are you a secret agent TOO?" Silly kids - it's not a secret if you TELL each other! ha ha

I think adults would get a huge kick out of it too. I was jealous that I didn't get to play this time ... next time.

Ok, I'm hooked, so how much does it cost to get one of these Kimmunicators? I have 2 DDs who would be interested in doing this in Aug. and I'm still working on our budget. TIA.

tia for your answers.

Start to finish was pretty much answered in the original post, but to answer those specifc questions.

what kind of missions?
The are like treasure hunts

what do they ask.
Locate a specific item in a country - i.e. find the Red Phone Booth in England (the Kimunicator will show you a picture of it)

how do you know your done.
The Kimunicator will tell you, that you completed the mission, and ask if you want to do another, or else give you a place to return your Kimunicator (cell phone)

is there a 'reward' for a completed mission
The reward is the smile on your childs face.

are you running all over the place or is there an order.
Each mission in is 1 country. i.e. a Mission in Germany, or a Mission in China. Each mission will take about 20 - 30 minutes (the whole time being spent in that one country).

You're welcome...

And the best part of the mission in my opinion (being a father of a 4 and 6 year old), is that when you are sharing a mission, there is a fob hanging of the end of the Kimunicator, and when it vibrates, that means it's time to give the Kimunicator to your little brother (or partner). No Fighting over whos turn it is to hold it - Disney thinks of everything, don't they!!

Cost - just park admission.

Pick up your return time (Esentially a Fast Pass) all over the park.

It doesn't cost anything to do the Kim Possible adventure - it's included with the cost of your park admission.

Also, I didn't see anyone else reference the fact that you can sign up as soon as you enter Epcot at one of the Innoventions pavillions. We went inside Innoventions and there was a big Kim Possible set at the front. You will see a brief video explanation, register and get your time to report to one of the kiosks in World Showcase later on.

We just got back from Disney. Both of my girls (9 & 7) loved the Kim Possible missions. We did 4 one day and they wanted to keep going.
