How are the Lovebugs in Orlando now?

Not bad, I barely noticed them in the parks this weekend.

I started a thread yesterday about this same thing and after spending awhile stressing about these stupid things, I have now calmed down. Mostly everyone that replied said that they are barely an issue right now. I spoke with my cousin who lives in the area and she said they are honestly not a big deal, she noticed a couple flying around but nothing to be concerned about or stress over. Just remember NOT to wear white, they are attracted to light colors.

And scrub the front of your cars. The most horrible thing about lovebugs is that the dead ones will just do horrible things to your cars paint job. They don't harm people just paint.

Lovebugs have an acidity body chemistry which is why, when dying on cars, they excrete the acid onto the paint. I do have to laugh when people are freaking out at the lovebugs and want to kill them on their skin. The person just got bug acid on their bodies.

BTW - lovebugs cannot bite or sting.

I chuckle too they are not like mosquitos. But you need to scrub them off your cars immediately or you will regret it. I learned this the hard way as a teen.
