Lovebugs???

I was wondering what times of the year they are bad? We usually go in November and we have not seen them then. Thinking that since we probably won't get to go in November that maybe we could go in say March/April to catch the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival.

I have seen horrific pictures of fronts of RVs covered in lovebugs. They can make quite a mess. I would prefer to avoid that.

Generally when the weather starts getting nice, the love bugs appear! So that's usually late April - May and September - early October.

May/June and September/October...we were in Daytona a few years ago with my DD (who hates all bugs). The Lovebugs were everywhere and she was quite unhappy. My truck was unhappy too, since it took forever to get the darned things off (and that's after stopping at the turnpike rest areas to spray it)...

I can't say about the spring but definitely the latter half of September. We have gone the 3rd or 4th week of September many times and there are almost always hordes of the bugs. The only year I don't remember there being many of them was 2004 after hurricanes Frances and Jeanne had rolled through central Florida. We arrived just a few days after Jeanne departed - there was quite a bit of damage repair going on, but temps were cool and there were no bugs.

Otherwise, every September has been quite "buggy".

My Aunt lives in FL and she told me that they have an acidic body fluid that will actually eat the paint on cars if left on too long so she gets her car washed at least twice a week to get them off.

lovebug seasons in central florida are late april to early june, & late august to early october. typically the mid-weeks of may & sept are the worst.
right now they are HORRIBLE - heavy swarming all day.
if they were here all year, no way we'd live in florida!
