Lovebugs are EVERYWHERE!

Alright, I need to tell you something if you are planning to go.

Lovebugs are EVERYWHERE at Disney World. Be careful at the value and moderate resort doors and crowd in when you come in.

Lovebugs come from around 12:00pm to 6:00pm and get worst at 2:00pm.

They will land on you, and they will swarm. If you are terrified of bugs you will be very afraid.

I can't believe a fellow DISer didn't tell us!

They were worst at MGM-Studios, but we haven't gone to AK yet. We wanted to get a hot dog near TOT but had to run to ABC Commaisary to get a burger because it was a HUGE swarm and they were landing on the food. (ABC Commaisary was really bad.)

So be forewarned! Lovebugs are very scary if you hate bugs and they are everywhere except for during the morning and night.

Thanks, I think we've definitely had enough warning here on the Disboards about this. You must have not checked the boards over the past few days as there have been quite a few threads about the current situations.

At this point I'm more concerned about my car's radiator than having to deal with the pesky critters and my dd who will hate them when we get there Friday.

Thanks for the heads up! I guess it could be worse ... they could be mosquitos! I really don't like flying bugs at all so here's hoping that they will all get a room at Universal!

Exactly what I was thinking! OR EVEN WORSE... hurricanes!! So I guess we have to be thankful... (although, I'll be that "crazy" lady swearing this weekend at the buggers because my dd will be having constant meltdowns!! (maybe it'll be good for her) LOL!! )

Here are two questions --
1. Does insect repellant work?
2. Will they be around to greet me end of Oct.?
I have never heard of Love Bugs before - I thought you guys were all referring to the Love Bug Car - silly me!

Bug sprays don't seem to work on them. They are harmless so just brush or swat them away. The numbers start declining in October so you probably won't have to deal with many of them.

You are kidding right???? There have been so many posts about the love bugs that I can't wait for them to be gone just 'cause it's getting real old having everyone talk about them.
