This was our first year staying at the Wilderness Lodge and we are already planning on staying there again next year. The CMs were very polite and the atmosphere was very relaxing and comfortable. We have been staying at Beach Club for the past 3 years and were losing that Disney feeling there. It all seemed too familiar after awhile. Love Storm Along Bay and the location is very nice, but we needed a change. I was also amazed at how much closer we all felt to everything being at WL. Boat to the MK, boat to the Cont for dinner at Chef Mickey's, a quick drive to the Poly to pick up breakfast at Capt'n Cooks, a short bike ride to the not-very-petty zoo at Fort Wilderness, and our room was located close, but not too close, to the bus stop.

Very happy that we tried out WL. Is there anyone out there who has stayed at WL and would like to share any experiences on their stay there?

Our family will be staying at the WL next October. Glad to hear you had a positive experience there!

We're like you -- we needed a change. We've always stayed at the value resorts and this time I just wanted to do something different.

I'm sure that you will have a great time there. There is a little beach there where you can catch the Electic Light Parade at 9:30pm (weather permitting) or just lounge out to catch some sun. Boat and bike rentals too. We only had time for biking this year, but we already have boating on our aenda for next time.

I am so glad we chose WL as our first choice for DW. the service and atmosphere was great. We were so impressed with everyone , friendly, and took the time to help you if you had a question. They were very accomidating . we had reservations at whispering canyon and we wanted to change ours to a later time, and did for us, so we could stay at parks longer. The whispering canyon was so much fun, and the kids had a ball waiting next what our waitress was going to say or do next. it was a side show with dinner. The food was good for dinner. The breakfast skillet was a little greasy though. But had their ribs for dinner, were delicious. we always left there full. we ate there 3 times during our stay. I smoke so i enjoyed my time , down by the arcade with my coffee and talked to so many people. where they were from, you usually seen them later in the evening to ask how their day was and what they did. I was so relaxed there, it did not feel just like a hotel, i guess that is what they want their guests to feel like, and it worked. we loved the choices of transportation. it did not have monorail right there, but all we had to do is hop on boat, and take to contemporary and it only took about 5-10 mins. we never waited more than 5-10 mins. for boat. the bus we we waited for the most was 15-20 min. to downtown disney. it was fun swimming with the ducks. we had a mamma hatch her eggs right in front of us! the little babies swimming around were so cute. we are from ohio, so something about the air in florida was refreshing, put you in a good mood, just being there. our trip was from 2-10/2-16. the crowds were down, we got right in most places. But we did not have time to do everything we wanted to do. So guess what ? we are already planning our trip back again for 2009. I am a obsessive planner, we can eat at different places, try the sea racers. my daughter wanted to go horse back riding at FW. we never made it to fantasmic. which we wanted to go. there is so much more to do without even going to the parks. Though we are wanting to go back to hollywood studios. we seen fireworks everynite from WL. what else could a family want? we had fun telling everyone how much there is to see and do. we wanted to go to one of the water parks also, so we will plan on that depending on weather. I cannot wait to start planning our next trip. I hope this helps whoever is considering WL.

We saw the ducklings during our stay too, which would only make sense since we were there from Feb 10th - 15th. DD and I had a lot of fun on the slide and observing the ducks. There really is so much to do at the resort that you could spend a whole week at WL and probably still find stuff you missed. So far it looks like our next trip is going to be in Jan of next year. First time not going during Valentine's Day.
