We stayed in a 2BR dedicated at OKW in April 2010, and we just arrived today in a 2BR dedicated at OKW. Simply put, we love the renovations! We read several posts that some others didn't like the renovations, but we have not complaints at all. In fact, we really like them. Our daughter (age 10) finds the single pull out very comfortable. They didn't have single sheets in the room, but we used the spare queen sheets. The Pergo type floor in the living room is much easier to clean, and the counters are very nice. We also really like the iHome radio where we could plug in our iPod. This is definitely better for our family than the older 2BR, and we loved those too.

We felt the same way. Overall I like the new design better than the old design (I've only seen the original design in pictures, though).

Thanks for your input. I loved the original OKW white washed theme, it's the reason I bought into DVC in the 1st place. I'm looking forward to our June stay in a GV, which I hope has been renovated, so I can finally see the changes for myself. No matter what, OKW will still be my favorite, I love the layout of the resort, the landscaping, the huge patios, can't wait for June!

Yeah!

Thanks to both of you for posting. Good news. I can't wait to see it in person and see what I think/how I feel.

I appreciate all sides.

We stayed over the Christmas/New Years Holidays and found the appearance was pleasant enough. We liked that the granite counter tops seemed to reflect the aggregate mixture used in the Peninsular Road bridge. That being said there were a couple things that we found rather annoying. The acoustics have changed with the new laminate flooring. Our neighbors weren't rowdy by any means but we could hear and understand minuet details of their conversations. There seems to be a loss of privacy. Another are the roman shades. They look nice but really chewed up my knuckles when I would raise or lower them unless I pulled the shades away from the french doors while using the mechanism. The roman shades, unlike the wood blinds they replaced, are an all or nothing proposition in that they are either open or shut. They lacked the user friendly control of original blinds. We could never get the thermostat to maintain an even temperature throughout our stay. It was consistently inconsistent. The rooms look nice but . . . :sad2:
