LOVE or HATE FP+ Anyone's mind been changed ??

Best comment on the podcast I heard- for the little I listened because it tends to put me to sleep....

"Sure, improvements are great, but do they have to do them all at once???" :crazy2:
I guess now they're doing too much. :rolleyes1

I'm a big believer in pixie dust, but even I know they don't just wave a magic wand and new attractions appear overnight.

Maybe my observations are wrong but last week I didn't get the impression that there was a lack of of staffing as it seemed 20 CM's were walking the parade route putting up and taking down the rope barrier. There was some sort of spontaneous dance party parade on Main Street later in the day and there must have been 30 CM's walking and providing guidance and security for this smaller parade. It made me wonder what all these CM's are doing when the parades are not happening.
I guess it's safe to assume they're not cleaning bathrooms!

The epitome of give me what I ask for so that I can complain about it when you do.

I wasn't aware of any new attractions being built in MK, Disney Springs, or DHS. I know that that there are hints that DHS willl have something new, but nothing announced .

With the costumes, I noticed that some (not necessarily all) of the parade workers are wearing the same costumes as the car drivers that drive down Main Street in the morning and the fire station/Sorceror's folks.

They, of course, would NOT be the custodial staff who where the mostly white uniforms. They tend to follow the parades cleaning up that mess.

That said--no, the bathrooms have not been perfect. I will say I have come across many actively in the process of being cleaned. I think folks should register complaints the same day they are are at the parks because that is where Disney will hear it the loudest.

As much as we like to think Disney listens to podcasts and reads discussion boards, it is not an effective way to deal with the issue. But if if gives folks pleasure listening, reading, and posting then I guess it serves a purpose.

You aren't aware of ANY construction at Disney Springs and MK? It is rather difficult to miss. The demolition of the hat at DHS keeps folks rather busy talking about it.

Well if you aren't aware, it must not be happening I guess. Except Disney Springs....you aren't aware of any construction that's been going on there? Disney Springs is kind of new in and of itself...not sure what to tell you about your lack of information.

And that is exactly what I did on our last trip. If you've got a gripe, toddle yourself down to guest services and lodge a complaint. It's the only way anything gets fixed. If it means enough to guests, they'll complain where it actually gets heard rather than rant and rave on an internet forum.

But if it means nothing to you and is actually handy to add fuel to your fire, then continue to do the latter and thank your lucky stars you can find something to complain about.

Or do you mean by "attractions", rides???? Maybe that's it. In that case, there are other "attractions" in WDW than just roller coasters. All forms of entertainment at WDW are, and always have been, called "attractions". They abhor referring to their "attractions" as "rides".

My understanding is that the construction activity in MK has nothing to do with new attractions but is intended solely to facilitate higher crowd levels. Apparently Disney is acutely aware of the need to safely accommodate more guests but that hasn't yet translated into a need for new shovel ready attractions in MK and DHS.

Very true. But they did just recently complete the NFL expansion. Which included 3 new attractions in the past 2 years.

It seems we want more, but complain that we didn't mean THAT.

I recall after I left the resort and had to visit the rest rooms at MCO, as soon as I walked in the first thought that popped into my head was, "Ugh, I'm not at Disney World anymore."

So I think it is all relative.

Both are the same, just different presentations.

Yes, attractions. Not all attractions are rides, but all rides are attractions. Really, the MK just opened up an entire new area within the last couple of years. No mega thrill though, so I guess that's a failure- but I love it! Just my cup of tea! :)

I realize some folks just want WDW to become a huge mega thrill ride park. I don't. A lot of people don't and I'm glad Disney isn't going down that path. As it is, AK is practically nothing but a construction zone. Disney Springs is going to be amazing, with or without a roller coaster and I'm willing to wait and see what they do with Star Wars.

Very much so. And this is why elevating is important. It very well could be that they need to change how they manage the rotations. Clearly their prior system is now inefficient to the quantity if guests.

Now, that is no excuse for the poor behavior of guests to simply refuse to find a proper receptacle when one is within 10 feet. Or to treat a bathroom stall like their own personal water park. But -- in many cases, that is occurring and it is time to reduce the area the one or two custodial CM's cover so that they can address the bathrooms more times per hour than they have been.

I was a housekeeping CM at Vero and was responsible for the public areas including the bathrooms. There was only one of me and for the most part, that was pretty adequate. But by the time I would do a rotation and return, the bathroom was clearly in need of servicing. Not awful, but not pristine.

Now, if the guest count doubled, I would have been on trouble being the sole CM responsible. And the solution would be to decrease my area by half OR keep the area the same size, but have another CM cycling that same rotation during another hour or half hour window.

Oh. You did quote the whole post though.

MK just completed an expansion. So pretending that did not occur does not help you claim that nothing is occurring. They just did something.

Absolutely true! I hold Disney to a much higher standard than I do anything else I give my money to. Compared to some places, it's still pristine. But I expect them to be, so when they're not, I complain- but where it actually may have some impact. I don't use it to further my dislike for them.
