It doesn't get talked about much on the DIS, but are there any other HBD fans out there?

We ventured there out of chance on a June evening because we didn't have any ADRs and it was the only restaurant taking walk ups. I was a little hesitant, but am SO glad we decided to go for it. We made a meal out of apps and the crab cake, corn chowder and ravioli were soooo delicious.

There must be some other Brown Derby fans out there to help share the love! Although the setting is a little more casual than the other signatures, being in a theme park, I just love it.

Any other DISers pleasantly surprised by their meal there? Would love to see any pics or hear favourite menu items!:thumbsup2

Hey girl..remember me?!

We ate there for the first time 2 weeks ago and loved it. We were there for lunch and expected the lunch menu, but we were given the dinner menu! :yay:

We have eaten there for lunch many times its always been good.

Our last family trip to the world (Oct. 08) was a gift to celebrate my 40th and my newly minted MBA. I had always wanted to try Brown Derby, but couldn't justify the 2 TS credits. My wonderful DH upgraded us to the DxDDP, so I didn't hesitate. It was incredible! My DD10 (at the time) says it is her favorite restaurant at WDW. DS3 (at the time) custom ordered, and the waiter even made suggestions that were not on the regular menu. I remember being blown away by my entree, and the dessert was incredible. I'd love to figure out a way to get back there on our upcoming grand gathering, but not sure we can swing a dinner there. Am I hearing the lunch is equally good? If so, I may have to give it a try!

LOVE it there!! Crab cake app, black grouper for dinner, and that pistachio dessert. YUM!! <3

Tell us more! We are going to book BD fantasmic package next trip. Reviews often say it's not worth 2 DDP credits but the other restaurants available for the fantasmic package don't interest us. We already ate at Mama Melrose and didn't care for Hollywood and Vine. We will go to 50s prime time for lunch and SciFi another day for lunch.

I also have a Fantasmic Dining Package for BD in the fall and would like to hear from someone who has done this recently and what was offered with the package. Just curious if you were limited on what you could order.

;)

We always pick this one too while there. I love a good salad, especially in the Summer, and the COB salad here is top notch!:thumbsup2 But you know I don't know what the fuss is about in regards to the grapefruit cake. We like the other desserts so much better;)

WE love how low key and relaxing the HBD is too::angel:

We love HBD. I love the Cobb Salad & The normally have a good soup. DH loves the Grapefruit cake-he hates Chocolate so he knows there will be a great dessert for him at HBD. We have always had great service & food at HBD. I do miss when they used have the Piano player though.

We did the package last May and it was by far our group's favorite restaurant! This included two really picky teenagers. They sat us in the Bamboo Room and that was much quieter. They also were very accommodating in pleasing the teenagers by removing sauces and adding french fries to please their tastes. I have eaten there many times and never had a bad meal. It's a must do for us every trip.

FYI the package includes an appetizer as well as entree and desert.

We'll be adding this to our ADR's for November thanks to everything I just read.
Thanks Everyone!

I don't have too many pictures and unfortunately they aren't great, but I thought I would share them for those who are curious about the restaurant!
