Any sign of the love bugs yet? We're going in 3 weeks. Hoping they won't be too bad this year...:rolleyes1

Being that I just got my car detailed today for the trip down tomorrow, this is a very timely question that I look forward to hearing the answer to also. :car:

They're out already, albeit sparsely, in the panhandle. I'm hoping all the little buggers have drown.

Watch it they'll eat your eyes! and populate within your loins!

We're starting to see a few here and there in Louisiana so they'll probably increase over the next couple of weeks.

Saw my first one today here on the gulf coast of Alabama. We've had a good amount of rain this spring, so it's gonna be a bad year for them.

Oh, and congratulations on the first Love Bug thread of the season.

Should we start the over/under bidding on how many more there will be?

I didn't know what these were and then I googled them- EW! They look gross! My question is- do they bite people or just crawl around?

The answer, young grasshopper, is in your search.

If you google it, you shall be enlightened.

:rotfl: lol. Well, I was reading about them, but the pictures were freaking me out so I decided to just ask here instead!

Well, then to answer your query, no, they don't bite, they are two busy *winkwink*.

Where do you think the term "love" comes from in the first place.

no they just land on you so you can watch their little lovebug porno show! :):rotfl2:

I live in Mississippi and they haven't started yet. But I'm expecting them soon. I HATE them.

They are in Louisiana already. The only thing that you have to worry about with lovebugs is that they will eat the paint off the front of your car if you wait too long to wash them off. Other than that, they are harmless. Personally, I'm much more worried about snakes at WDW.

I'm leaving tomorrow and thought I'd give this a bump. I've never seen them before and was wondering if they are out and if they are if there are alot.

They're out at my house-which is about 20 minutes away from WDW, but they aren't at full annoyance level yet

We were on our honeymoon (May 1989, when the Studios opened) when we first saw these things and we didn't know what they were, since we're from New York. We were staying at the Polynesian and we'd see cars COVERED in them when they'd drive up.

Now we joke about them. Sometimes when we contemplate about relocating to Florida, we always say "it's nice, but can we handle the Love Bugs?".

With the strange looking stuff we have up here, believe me, Love Bugs are nothing. :yay:
