Love Bugs in September?

Your car will be okay. I don't know of any ways to "protect" your car, my only suggestions are to clean off the windshield when you stop for gas, and maybe the grill, too. If you are paranoid about paint coming off, you can run it through a car wash when you get to Orlando; however, I think you could probably wait until you get back home. The front of my white car has been covered with lovebugs and left on for over a week or 2 before I got to wash it and no paint has ever chipped off. You shouldn't have that many problems, but I have lived with them my whole life and used to it all.

A good way to protect the front of your car is to get a car bra. I own two bugs- a '73 and an '04- and for some reason the love bugs love bugs and i always end up with a ton sprayed across the hood. car bras will at least help the grill and bumper stay a bit cleaner.
