Love: A poll

Well, I certainly believe you can make a connection online. I met my DH in person, but the vast majority of our communication was done via email/IM, as he was in military school. Since he's now deployed all the freaking time, we still do the majority of our communicating online or on the phone. I told my mother within a month of dating DH that I was going to marry him. That was 8.5 years ago.

I met a really good friend online - we talked for months before we met. The in-person meeting just solidified our friendship. She is perfect for me.

People who believe in "love at first sight" have a different definition of love than I do. IMO, you cannot be in love with someone you don't know well.

All of the people I've known who said they were in love at first sight (usually with their "soulmate") broke up or got divorced. If it works out, I think it is a fluke.

I met my or I should say talked to my husband the first time on the phone and I can honestly say I knew within a week that I loved him and the first time I saw him I knew I was going to marry him. He felt the same. 10 years later and 4 fur children we are even more in love with eachother now then we were before. I can't imagine my life without him.

Just a random thought - did you believe you can fall into love at first sight with your baby? I didn't "know" Russ very well until, I dunno, a good six months till I was getting some sleep and could appreciate his tiny personality. But I sure as heck loved him long before then!
