I have cruised 2 times int hew past on differnet cruise lines. Each mornig when i got to the pool, the lounge chairs were all taken (9-10 am.) Is this the same for dcl ------ If so, what is a good time to get a chair?

You will find on Sea Days, it will be taken faster. Also, at the kids and family pool, it tends to be crowded, but usually around lunch time.. The adult only pool, there isn't usually a problem..(at least with my past 4 Disney Cruise.) DCL strongly discourage saving too many lounge chairs with just a towel on it..So you will see once in a while, a CM will get rid of the towel to open the chairs available. But there are also some chairs avail above deck overlooking the pool. When i went on Carnival, those passengers seems to flock to the pools whereas on DCL, to me, that doesn't seem to be the case. Probablry there are too many others good activites on board. So if you grab the chairs around 9 or 10, i don't foresee a problem getting one or two.

Unfortunatly chair-hogs are on Disney cruises as well. It was very difficult to find a chair on deck 9, but on deck 10 overlooking the kids pool it was pretty easy. just go & relax, your on a Disney cruise :-)

If you see chairs with just a towel sitting unoccupied for a long time, just move it and take the chair. Bring a copy of the Navigator with you, and if the chair hog returns and dares to say anything, simply point to the line in the Nav that clearly states NO CHAIR SAVING.

We have not really had a problem with this, even on sea days. Of course there was always the few people that put stuff on their chairs not to return for several hours, but, especially by the Mickey pool people tend to not stay too long. We were able to obtain front seat chairs within a 1/2 hour of arriving at the pool in most cases. Maybe we just got lucky, but just keep your eyes open and you should be able to catch an open one.

We also never had a problem with this..everytime we went to the Mickey pool...we somehow were able to find a couple loungers.

Hey American Scrapper...Is that who I think it is???..:earboy2:

Deck chairs almost always were filled with a body (no a towel) on deck 9. They almost always were open just up the stair case on deck 10 overlooking the pools.

Best time to get to the pools? We went just about every morning between 7:30 and 9 or 9:30. We were the ONLY ones there. We had the pools and hot tubs to ourselves. My favorite cruise memory is sitting in the hot tub with my little ones in the morning. Once they open the slide at 9 it does get crowded very quickly and in the afternoon it is just a zoo. If you are an early riser, get to the pools first.
