If anyone could suggest a safe great place to stay near the Louisville Kentucky Convention Center, I would appreciate the help. We need rooms for around 50. We will need to be able to walk to the Convention Center. It needs to be kid friendly as this will be a group of Jr. High Beta Students. Thanks

hi im in louisville let me look up some and i will get back to you. there is TONS of places to stay down there, but let me find something kid friendly for you.

here is a link to the ones in the area http://www.hotels-rates.com/hotels/...ampaignID=0&subAffiliateID=0&adid=0&cityID=53

i will say that the convention center is in the heart of downtown and most all will be good to stay at. 4th street live is a bar scene so on the weekends is busy and full of people, and im sure with kids you don't want that. that is on 4th street so keep that in mind. as far as kid friendly i don't know what your looking for or how much you all are looking to spend. if you need any more help let me know i will be glad to help you out on areas/location/good vs. bad etc. not to sound "mean" but there is some of downtown that i would avoid and if you want to PM me so it's not in the public i will let you know.

Last year my dd's Beta club stayed at the Courtyard Downtown BUT the pool is not very big at all. It was a very nice hotel and the kids really liked it.

I just looked online for the information and have you considered just staying at the Galt House as that is a part of the program?? That is where my daughter stayed just last week for the Kentucky Beta Convention. Her room had a bedroom with 2 beds and a separate living/sitting room with a couch. Her club placed tape on the bedroom doors at lights out so they knew if anyone had left their rooms after lights out.

I would stay at the Galt House. I don't think there's an indoor pool(there didn't use to be, but with the renovations they may have added one) but if the conference is there it will be worth it. The kids will just be excited to be on the trip!

According to my DD who was there last week, still no pool but Beta has a dance so that was fun for the kids.

Can you get a room at the Galt House for $50? I'd be surprised if you can.

Not to hijack the thread, just wanted to say I got married at the Galt House!! And DH sister was Director of Catering there for yrs. She's at the Crowne Plaza now. So I give a vote for either one! ;)

Didn't realize you were trying to get a room for $50--I think Priceline is probably your best bet then. I don't think there's very many hotels(or ones I'd want to stay in) downtown for that price just reserving straight through the hotel.

BTW, our school academic team is in Louisville this weekend, and they couldn't get the Galt House(their first choice) because it was full, I think they are at a Marriott, which I think is within walking distance.

Not sure where the $50 came from. I know we will have to pay a lot more than that for 30 or more rooms. Just hoping to keep it around $125 if possible. Thanks again for the help. I checked the website and rooms are on average $135 for that time of year. Hoping to get a little discount for group rate.

You can't really get a decent hotel in the Convention center area of Louisville for $50. Not many areas of Louisville where you can get a hotel room for that cheap and the ones you do get are what you would call "You get what you paid for" rooms.
