I really can relate on things that I love that people buy fakes of. DH spent over $10,000 on my wedding set and a friend of ours bought a "stone" almost the same size for only 1000.00. Now it is obvious to any knowledgeable observer that hers is of poor quality but to many people they just look and say "wow" , so yes that kind of thing does bug me so I do understand. MIL has no idea who prada etc is, she just liked the wallet

Wow, I'm relieved to see the responses to my original post. I was worried that everyone would take my remarks the wrong way. I too wasn't trying to put anyone down. Ann - I agree with you on the jewelry too. It can all be fun if you keep it in perspective. My daughter thinks her knock off Louis is hysterical and tells everyone she got it on the street corner in New York. For her half the fun was watching her Pop Pop bargain the price. Hope everyone had a great holiday, and a wonderful New Year. For the purse nuts out there hope 2004 is the year that the knock off purse market is overtaken by a new fad.

i just bought a real, id'd prada hand bag at sams club for $150(reg price 220) and a few months ago, a gucci bag for $200(reg 320-ish). prada& gucci both came with the id card,protective bag, and i LOVE them. they have fendi, gucci, prada, burburry-no lv or spade or coach.tons of wallets, key chain, sunglasses by the above bag makers, too. they are kept at jewery locked in the case. call your local sams to see if they have any. i will for sure buy a knock off lv at st thomas for my 13 year old dd-she asked for one for xmas-like dancermoms dd, my dd cant remember where she leaves anything. she also, would not be able to find her head if it was not attatched to her body
but seriously, if you want the real thing at a steal of a price , try your sams club.i think when i go monday to buy some new luggage, i will pick up that matching gucci wallet

mariamard - I'll have to go to Sam's to get some new designer shades for our cruise. Thanks for the tip. I'd heard Sam's started to carry them, but haven't looked there yet. I would trust buying from them, because I don't think a national chain would ever take the chance of selling knock off's. The fines would kill them, and they would be very easy to catch.
