Lotusphere 2007 Convention

I just checked their website. It is Jan 21-24 and they will have their party on the 23rd from 7:30PM - 11:00PM. I'm new at all this but read in another thread they sometimes close the park for them. If this is the case, plan accordingly. Fortunately, we will be at Cirque that night so we won't have to deal with it.

I'm hoping this convention will not impact our stay. I've been looking forward to this trip for more years than I can count and want to make it a memorable vacation for all.

I might be there for Lotusphere this year. (I've managed to avoid it the past three years, but my time might be up.) The party was at D-MGM last year, Islands of Adventure two years ago, Universal Studios three years ago, the Magic Kingdom the year before that, and Sea World the year before that. Another past party was at Wide World of Sports, but that was so bad that they'll never do that again, for sure! So playing the odds, they might be doing the Magic Kingdom again.

I have been to Lotusphere 8 times since 1995. During those times, my memory tells me the parties were at (in no particular order):

Islands of Adventure (2x)
Universal Studios
MGM
MK
Wide World of Sports
Sea World

Lotusphere wont impact your stay much at all, that is as long as you stay away from the Dolphin/Swan where you will see a "sea" of conventioneers throughout the day in these 2 hotels and conference rooms. I would NEVER pay money to stay with family there during this week.

The other convention hotels are typically POR, CBR, and one of the All Stars. If you are staying at any these places, you will see people coming and going throughout the week in the common areas and bus stops, but nothing too too rowdy or loud.
