Yes i have. I was 12 months and a couple days out and had to wait to see what we got. Our first pick was for a saturday evening. We then had to give a first, second, and third preference. We decided that the time of day was the most important for us. So instead of our choices being for various times on the same day we requested the 5:00 slot for 3 different days. We ended up getting our second choice which was friday night. We were bummed at first but now it has worked out better as we can leave saturday morning for our honeymoon cruise. I really believe sometimes things happen for a reason. So i would recomend figure out what is most important to you if it is that particular day at any time spot or if you are ok with anything within that couple days. And just hope for the best. (In my personal opinion I don't even think they do a true lottery system. I think they try to fill as many spots as possible. Like what I think happned with me is the 2 of us wanting the same sat spot, we probably were the only ones ok with a firday so they gave it to us to fill knowing that the sat spot would be filled by the other couple.)
