We'll be heading down in a little while with our five small children, aged 15mo. to 7. We're wanting to do all the usual kid rides; pretty much everything in Fantasyland, Autopia, Buzz, Flik's Fun Fair, etc. I know rides like Small World and Pirates will be fine with our larger group, but what about the rides where only a couple people fit in a ride vehicle?

So here are my questions:

Will my 6 and 7yo's be able to ride things like Buzz together, with dh or myself in another ride vehicle?

Will any rides (I think the new PP ships, maybe?) accomodate an adult with 2 small children? How about 3 small children?

If there are rides in which the first two answers here would be no, will we be able to do a multiple baby swap? Dh or myself with one child each time? I feel like we'll tie up the lines forever.

I hope my questions here are making sense, and I appreciate any help/advice. Thanks! :goodvibes

I know you can have two kids with an adult. Not sure about three, but the 15 mo old may be able to sit in your lap.

From my experience, they have to be 7 to ride by themselves. The CM will ask the child how old they are. The CM at the Teacups would not let DD7 ride with her 5 year old cousin by themselves. I think most of the FL rides will accommodate 2 adults and 1 child (in one row). They let us ride with DD2 on our lap as well. We did this on Monsters Inc. and I believe Pooh as well.

IIRC most rides can have 2 kids per one adult, or one of you could just hold the baby on your lap. I also think 6 and 7 are old enough to share a bench alone (with mom and dad in the bench/car behind), if they feel comfy enough with it. Worst case scenario you can do a child swap, and have one adult wait with the baby and one child at the end of the ride, and then switch with the other parent & child. Just tell the CMs what you need and they;'ll direct you. I wouldn't worry to much about it. You'll figure it out once you're there! :thumbsup2

Just re-read the question, I was thinking family of 5 not 5 kids...

I assume there will be two adults. You will have to ride 1 adult w/ 2 kids and the "baby" Some rides won't allow lap sitting, pretty much anything with a lap bar will require the baby be sitting on the seat. You will have to make use of parent swap for some rides. Get in line together, and ask the FIRST attendant you come accross if/how they can accomidate you.

I could see Autopia being a snag. You can fit an adult and two kids in the car, but I'm not sure they would let you ride with a baby on your lap.

If you ride with two kids in the car and they both want to "drive", you can do the ride twice and both kids can get a chance to drive. You have to exit the car, but just go back to the CM directing people to the cars and they'll put you right back in the car. At least that's what happened to us (I rode with my 7 year old and 3 year old).

I doubt your 7 year old could drive in Autopia by him/herself - they have to be taller than the average 7 year old. My 7 year old was only a few weeks away from 8 and not tall enough to do his own car.

They were good to accomodate us, though. It'll work, even if you end up riding Autopia round and round while one adult holds the baby.

Have fun!

Glad you asked this!

It wasn't something I had thought about but we will have to have one adult and two kids so I guess we'd better consider this too. We only have three kids, but that still isn't one to one. Also the youngest will have to sit out alot of rides so that leaves one adult with the other 2.

We're going with 4 kids but we don't have the baby so it will be a bit easier for us. Last year my son was 8 and wasn't able to do Autopia alone. hopefully this year he'll be able to.

They do not let you ride with children on your lap on Autopia. They made sure my DD was on her butt on that ride. :)

For Peter Pan, CM let us (DW, DS5, DS2 and me) ride together (7 times during our 5 days trip :cool1::cool1:). But for most of the other rides like Alice, Mr. Toad, Snow White ..., it's pretty strict that 2 persons in a row. For 5 kids, Child Swap should help.

In our experience we were able to ride with DD2 on our lap on Alice (3 of us total), and then 3 of us on Dumbo, but those might be wider seats. Maybe it depends on the CM too.
