I finally did it. We booked our flights for the last week in June. How crowded is it July 4th weekend? What are the temps like? Is it unbearably hot like orlando? How many days should I plan on DL? I would also like to do San Diego, ANy suggestions on where to stay or how to split our time. We have 8 days to do whatever? Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Hi, dis4me. I'll try to answer as many of your questions as I can! :D

July 4th weekend will be crowded, but not unmanageable with Fastpass and breaks mid-day. I see your flight is booked for the last week in June. That would be a much better weekend to spend at DL if you could swing it.

It will be hot, but nothing like Orlando. It should be in the low 80s during the day, and in the 60s at night. The humidity is very low, so it won't feel sticky, and there shouldn't be any rain at all.

Plan on at least 3-4 full days in DL and DCA. If you're going to be in the area for a while, you should spread out the days you're in the parks so you don't get overwhelmed. The park hoppers are usually good for about two weeks after they're activited, so there will be plenty of time to see other sites in the LA area while touring DL. You might want to go to DL during the week if possible instead of the weekend to avoid excess crowds.

We usually spend about 2 nights in San Diego, but I'm sure you could easily spend a month there and never run out of things to do. Highlights include Seaworld, the Zoo, the Wild Animal Park (outside SD), Legoland (in Carlsbad), Seaport Village, and Old Town. It's fun to stay in a hotel on the beach, and you'll want one that is pretty centrally located so you can be close to all the action. :smooth:

Have fun! :Pinkbounc

Thanks Tigeroo42 any suggestions on must see attractions and stuff.

must see:
DCA-Soarin' over California, California Screamin', Grizzly Rapids, Alladin (show if still playing)--lots of other stuff but don't miss these!

Sea World is really nice but if you are expecting Orlando type size, etc, you will be disappointed. But this is the original and it is lots of fun.

My advice--relax and enjoy and "hang loose"--that is our California motto!

Thanks I won't miss those.
Any suggestions on where to stay in San Diego. We have 2 girls and an infant.

It depends on how much you want to spend. I always stay at the Del Coronado (this is the hotel that Grand Floridian is based on) and where Marilyn Monroe filmed Some Like it Hot. It has been voted one of the top 10 beaches in the US and the top family beach. Depending on when you go, it can be reasonable to down right expensive but you will never forget your stay there.

Go to hoteldel.com for more info--you can plug in dates and it will give you roomrates online (no obligation)

any more ???? anyone?
