HI! We're back from a wonderful & yummy trip. This trip it was DD, DH, & me.
We stayed at BWI, CL for 7 nights & 8 days. It was a wonderful trip, we totally didn't want to come back.

These are the restaurants we ate at:

Cracker Barrel, travel
Flying Fish
San Angel
Teppan Edo (twice)
Big River Grill
50's Prime Time Cafe
Beaches & Cream
Yak & Yeti
Rose & Crown Pub & Dining
Liberty Tree Travern
Katsura Grill
Saana
Room Service
snacks

Travel Day. We stopped at a Cracker Barrel for a late lunch, early supper.

My husband had the Spiced Rubbed Pork chop with french fries. He liked it alot. I thought it was a little thin, more like a breakfast pork chop

Vegetable Platter with four veggies, mashed potatoes with gravy, hash brown casserole, green beans, & fried apples. Everything was great.

My daughter order off the adult menu so it ended up being way too much for her, but we took the rest to go. She had the fried chicken tenderloins with fries. She really like it.

After stuffing ourselves we continued on to our hotel to sleep before our flight to the happiest place in the world!!

This was our first time going to Flying Fish and it did not disappoint. The inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated. Our waiter was hard to understand, he had a thick accent, but the service he provided was terrific.

To start I order one these yummies. I forgot the name, but it was a strawberry something. It was very refreshing, not strong, and good.

Then came bread service. Everyone enjoyed it. I didn't tell my DD & DH what kind of bread it was, so they ate it & liked it.

For my Entree I had the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and Crispy Tepura Tuna-Vegetable Sushi Roll - Hijiki and Wakame Seaweed, Yuzu Tobiko, and Wasabi Foam with a Sweet-and-Spicy Sauce. It was delicious & very filing.
I had to cut them in half to be able to eat because they are so big, as you can see by the picture. I had cut one before remembering to take a picture

My husband ordered the Char-crusted Angus New York Strip Steak - Hericot vert, roasted fingerling potatoes, cippolini onions, and beech mushrooms with Classic Sauce Foyot, but he subbed french fries. He said it was very good & tender.

My daughter ordered the kid's Grilled Chicken Breast Skewers - roasted red potatoes and vegetables; Dessert: Seasonal fruit skewers. Served with choice of small lowfat milk or small water. She subbed the veggies for fries. I thought her chicken was a little dry, but she liked it. She really liked the dessert.
I had already cut it before the picture.

Then we had a Creme Brulee. mmmmm

Hello!

I am looking forward to your review! We leave on Oct 26th for our trip!

Great pics!

I want to eat at the Cracker Barrel! One of my co-workers likes to eat there when she visits Louisanna! She asked me if we had went there when visiting Florida.

Waiting for more....

Thanks! We really had an awesome trip. I ate so much, I thought for sure I had gained a ton of weight. But thankfully it was only 4lbs. I guess all that walking really uses up those calories. Maybe our next trip I'll eat light & see if I lose weight. Nah!:rotfl:

Two years ago, I had the best, more moist, delicious strawberry cupcake at The Boardwalk Bakery. So of course I had to run on in and get another one.

Unfortunetly, this one was not as good. The taste was off & I think the frosting & filling was different. I'm not sure. I don't think I would buy again, especially for the cost.
Strawberry Cupcake

San Angel Inn

We have always wanted to eat here. It's so pretty inside. We were seated right where we wanted to be, by the water. My DH & DD loved waving at everyone on the boats.
I've read mixed reviews about the San Angel Inn, so I was a little worried. But everything was good. Our waitress was nice & we had good service too. It's very dark in there & I didn't want to offend our dining neighbors so the pics are a little dark.

First up I ordered a (I think) mango, passion fruit Margarita. It was so very good & so very strong. I couldn't drink it all, but I'm a light weight.

Then came chips and salsa; which came with one hot & one mild. They were fresh & crisp. Both salsas were very good.

I ordered the Tostados de Tinga - Fried corn tortillas topped with black beans, lettuce, onions, advocado, tomato marinated chicken, sour cream, and fresh cheese. I requested no onions and the beans on the side. I enjoyed this as my entree. It was the perfect amount of food for lunch.

My DH went with Loma de Pue en Pipian - Pork tenderloin served over roasted vegetables and pipian - pumpkin, chiles and almond sauce. He asked for the sauce on the side. He said it was really good.

My DD ordered her usual Grilled Chicken - chicken breast served with Mexican rice and vegetables. She was pretty bummed there wasn't any french fries, lol. So she asked them to hold the veggies. She did try the rice, but it wasn't for her. The chicken was cooked well, very moist, she liked it.

All together, I think we would all go back to San Angel Inn. But I wouldn't order the margarita, only because it's a waste if I can't finish it. Good Meal.

Oh my everything looks yummy!! I love cracker barrel they have great comfort food!

Your FF meal was beautiful! I am not a tuna fan and a recent vegan convert, lol, but it looked gorgeous!

How fun that you got a waterside table at SAI! The food looked yummy and you gave me a great meal idea for next month. Tacos hold the meat!!

At FF they do offer a veggie sushi roll.
Vegetarian Sushi Roll - Silken Tofu, Avocado, Heirloom Radish and Young Carrot Roll, Cucumber-Seaweed Salad with Asian Chile Crema and Piquant Mango-Sweet Yellow Pepper "Ketchup"
You might like that.

Since everyone has been talking about their experiences with FP+, I'll throw in mine too. FP+ worked ok, but not great, and not how they advertised. I say this because whenever I needed to change a FP, the app wouldn't let me do it. I would get a "We're sorry" etc, etc. message. So that never worked for us & we end up losing that FP. And I found myself constantly looking at my phone for times & worrying about going to our next FP. It made my DD fuss at me to put away my phone. Then I had to explain to her what I was doing. She felt I wasn't enjoying the moment (her words) because I was checking my phone. And she was right. That sucks. So for my family, we like the old version better.

A non-food update. My DD & I went horseback riding at Fort Wilderness for the 8:30 trail ride. I have to say it was awesome! There were a total of 6 people including us. The other 4 people were a lovely family from Jersey, Eng. Our horses were mild tempered & easy to ride. The guides were terrific, very friendly & helpful. I guess I should say that I haven't been on a horse since high school (a long time ago) & this was my DD's first time on a horse. She was very nervous, so was I, but I didn't tell her, lol. It was a little muddy because it had rained the day before. The whole experience really was fun & my DD wants to do it again. Also, now she wants to take horseback riding lessons at home. A word of caution though to those not familar with FW. When you arrive by the bus stop, (facing bus stop) turn right & walk along the sidewalk until you get to the little building, that's where you check in. We went the wrong way, had to back track, then found it.

I took this picture while sitting on my horse, Cooper. My DD's horse was named Cheeto, she thought that was so funny.

Teppan Edo

We ate here twice during our stay & ate the same thing everytime. I'm just going to do one review for it because both times were fabulous. Each time our servers & our chefs were spectacular, very nice & funny. The food both times were absolutely wonderful. And the best part is even my two picky eaters like the food.

First our sauces. The white was for seafood, I think the middle was for veggies, & the last was for meat. My favorite was the white.

Our wonderful chef (the first time)

I had ordered the shrimp, my DD had the chicken, & my DH had the steak & shrimp. All three dishes were excellent. The beef rice they served was better the second time. The first it was a little dry.

I also went to Germany & picked up my favorite thing there, a milk chocolate covered caramel with salt. Mmmmm, so good. But it seemed to me that last year they were bigger, not sure though. Anyone else think they're smaller this year?

Next up: Villian's Sinister Soiree

We went to MNSSHP & booked the Villian's Soiree. It rained, but no biggie we had ponchos. The Soiree was ok, I don't think it was worth the extra money & I wish Disney would educate their CMs more. To go to check in for the event, we tried to go down the path by Sleepy Hollow that goes behind the castle, we were stopped by a CM. She told us No, you can't go here, go to the front of the castle to a CM there to check in. At this point it was the end of the fireworks & it was like trying to swim up a very strong current due to waves of people leaving the castle going towards frontierland. It was brutal. We finally made it to the front of the castle & were informed that we needed to go to the reserved seating area & a CM would escort to the castle to check in. We manage to get there & were told No, to go to the right of the castle & take the first left. The first left had another CM who said No, not here, to try & keep going. Before it was over we had completely went around the castle, fighting through the crowds & ended up the exact place we originally were trying to get to. So we weren't exactly in a festive mood & were completely exhausted.

The Soiree itself was nice. We were given dragon cups to keep that had candy in them.

And some greenish juice, I forgot what they called it. It was refreshing.

They also gave us a cheese plate. The bread/crackers were so hard, I was afraid I'd break a tooth. I liked the figs & the cheese in the pot the best.

None of us liked the desserts. The apple wasn't very good, it was like a poached apple with something inside. The green one was the best in imo, the top had a coconut marshmellow flavor. The next one was nasty, it tasted like burnt coffe grounds. The last one was ok, it was chocolate with I think a rasberry middle. They were beautifully decorated, I wish they tasted better.

Can't decide to keep the soiree or not. Thanks for the review

You're welcome. The characters were good & came around to the tables to interact with all the guests. I'm glad we did it once. But it takes time away from the party. We were at the 10:15pm one & by the time we got out, we were so tired, we left the party. I believe we arrived back at our resort around 12am. We didn't even get to trick or treat. Money wise it's not worth it to us to spend money on an event, then spend more money on another event that takes away from the main event. If that makes sense. Anyway, don't let my review change your mind. Every family is different & everyone has a different experience. On the plus side it was very nice not to have to fight for a place to watch the parade, of course that alone is NOT worth $99 per person, lol. If you do go, be sure to leave a review!:goodvibes

Enjoying your reviews. I am glad SAI was good for you guys, my friend and I had a bad lunch there two years ago. I have heard mixed reviews on the soiree, I agree it would take away from the party. However characters look awesome.

I have a confession. I forgot to take pictures at Big River Grill, oops. Sorry. But here's the review anyway. My DD had the grilled chicken sandwich, but with only the chicken breast with a side of mashed potatoes & kettle chips. The chicken was ok, she didn't like the mashed potatoes & the chips were ok. My DH had a hamburger with kettle chips, he liked it. I had the Chicken Quesadilla (A large tortilla with ancho flavor, grilled chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. Served with sour cream and guacamole). It was good. I didn't find anything special about Big River Grill and we probably wouldn't go back unless we had no other options.

Beaches and Cream

This was our biggest disappointment. I had read so many rave reviews on B&C, but it really wasn't great. The decor is cute inside, but the restaurant is VERY small.

This is one of their cute tables outside

As most of you know B&C now requires reservations & it's located by the pool area. We arrived a little before our ressie. We checked in & were given a buzzer and told we could go in the arcade if we wanted. My DH & DD went in the arcade, I stayed outside with the buzzer. After I while I hear the CM calling a name (At NO time did our buzzer go off!). I couldn't really understand the name because it's loud around there. He said it again, shaking his head & looking down on his list. Luckily I had partially understood him that time, grabbed my party & went to the podium. I'm mentioning this only because I felt that if I hadn't heard him, he would've gone to next person in line.

My DD & I weren't that hungry so we decided to order french fries and onion rings to share. The fries were ok. The onion rings were so greasy neither my DD or I could eat them. We didn't say anything or complain. The waiter asked us if there was something wrong with the onion rings & I told him. He took them off our ticket, which was very nice of him.

I also ordered a strawberry shake. It was delicious.

My DH ordered a hamburger and fries. He said it was just okay.

We will not be visiting B&C again, unless it's for that Strawberry Shake. There's too many restaurants in Disney that are a whole lot better.

We enjoy the BC! I agree its small. Last trip we went there for ice cream! We enjoyed our treat.

Your pics are great! I am currently on a weight loss journey. 4 pounds is not too bad of a gain... I am scared what I will gain... We enjoy our Disney dining!
