Thank you for your patience!

Is there a bike path around the resort away from cars that is good for young kids?

Do you have to make PS arrangements ahead of time for restaurants. Would you recommend Goofy breakfast, how much is it?

Is there a resort map someplace online?

Is the kids club 10/hour like other Disney resorts?

Any recommendations for first timer?

Are there basketball courts for adults?

How does the fising work? From the beach or take a boat out?

Thanks!

There is a path that goes from one end of the resort to another. It is more a beach front walk. I actually haven't walked it from one end to another. But it is there. You don't have to make PS arrangements but you'd be better off since they offer it.

I don't have map available, everything is ocean side except the basketball/ tennis courts. I think you'll have to contact one of the marina's for a fishing excursion. You could try search for Captain Hiram's.

If you love the beach you will love this resort. There is nothing to do.... but you can make your own fun. I know they have a teen night and it runs about $35. I don't know about 12 and unders. Our kids were also too tired by the end of the even. If we wanted to go somewhere we left them in the room with popcorn and went to the green cabin room, so no need for kids clubs. Call the resort 772-234-2000.

Thanks.

Also, do they mind if you show up real early for checkin and just use the pool if room is not ready? We've done this at other Disney resorts and its been ok.

Are there any room requests I should make? We are just getting a studio does that mean we'll be in the INN area?

You will be welcome to use the pool until your room is ready. There is a changing room in the pool area.

If you are in a studio, you will be in one of the villa buildings. If you would like to be in the inn building, you should reserve an Inn Room. The amenities of an Inn Room are the same as a studio, except in the Inn Room you get the two beds and in the studio you get the bed and sofa.

You are also welcome to hang-out all day after you check out. And barring a flight to catch....we always do.

The shower area is very nice at VB right by the pool, so you can go there and change and spend time at the pool while you wait for your room. They also have a snack bar there where you can get lunch by the pool.

We just got back from one night at VB (after our WDW trip) and we just loved it there and would like to go back for a whole week!

I don't think they have a "kids club" that operates all the time. They have activities and some require the parents to stay (those are free) and others do not require it (those have a fee).

Here is a days worth of activities listed while we were there:

9:00 am Bead Jewelry for ages 6 & up (free)
10:30 am Towel Art for ages 4 & up (free)
1-5:00 pm Kayak Adventure ages 8 & up (under 18 must with an adult) ($$$)
1:15 pm Tot Basketball for ages 3-5 (free)
2:00 pm Unbirthday party for ages 4-10 (free but limited to 1 party per visit)
3:30 pm Tot Treasure Hunt for Parents & children ages 3-5 (free)
4:15 pm SPUD (free)
5-8:00 pm Disney Discovery Club for ages 4-12. Dinner included ($$$)
5:30 pm Pelican Island Bike Hike for ages 12 & up ($$$)
8:30 pm Sing Along Campfire (free)

So the 5-8:00 Discovery Club seems to be like a babysitting type of service, but for the most part the kids just go to the activities and hand out a little to do a game or a craft. The parents are still responsible for the kids while they are there.

Hope this gives you more of an idea of what to expect. This was from the schedule for Monday June 20th.

Thanks so much for all the detailed information!

When you arrive early and there is no room ready, do they go ahead and give you keys and later activate them for a room when its clean? Just wondered how I can show I'm a guest if I'm not in a room yet. I'd like the kids to be able to participate in some of the kid activities on arrival day as well.

When the kids go to the club 5-8pm, are the parents allowed to leave the resort for dinner? Do they issue pagers?

Thanks again.

When you check in they give you your room key and if the room isn;t ready (they won't tell you which room it is), they'll just tell you to call upi there from any hotel phone in an hour or two to check on it. We always go straight to the pool area and "play". You can absolutely start doing the activities! They also have an arcade and snack bar out at the pool area. If we don't feel like swimming yet, you can also rent tons of different games, chalk, balls, etc (FREE!!) from the Ebb and Flow's area (where you get the pool towels). You'll need your key card for that but again, don't need to have an actual room number yet.

There is also a mini golf course by the pool that is $1 per game or $5 for your whole stay. The kids like it, and it isn't a big course at all, I could watch my twins play from a lounge chair (but they are 11, so if you have really young ones you may want to go with them through the course).

I just wanted to also mention that the Disney Discovery Club (babysitting) isn't available every day. I gave you an example of one day, Monday, June 20th. Here is the next day's activities, Tuesday June 21st (just to give you and idea).

7:30-9:30 am Turtle Troop ages 7-15 -- Explore the fascinating world of Sea Turtles & their habitats. ($$$)

9:15 am SCUBA Experience ages 12 & Up --($$$)

9:30 am Soccer ages 6 & UP -- (FREE)

9:45 am Fishing FUNdamentals ages 7 & UP--Learn the basics of "Catch & Release" fishing. Keep you rod and reel. ($$$)

10:30 am SnorkelEars ages 7-15--Keep your mask and snorkel ($$$)

10:45 Sand Art ages 6 and UP (FREE)

12:15 Giant Checkers all ages (FREE)

12:45 Collage Art ages 4 & UP (FREE)

1:00-3:00 pm Creatures from the Lagoon ages 7-17 --Visit the Environmental Learning Center. Explore & learn about Indian River Lagoon. Followed by seine netting at the waters edge to observe fish & wildlife ($$$)

1:15 pm Bubbles all ages (FREE)

2:00 pm Bocce (no age listed) (FREE)

2:30 Tot Treasure Hunt ages 3-5 (FREE)

3:00 Craft Time ages 6 & up--Decorate an unbrella ($$$)

4:00 pm Face Decorating for parents and children (FREE)

6:30 pm Teen Volleyball (FREE)

7:00 pm Sea Turtle Information Session for all ages--learn about the magnificent Sea Turtles that nest on our beaches. (FREE)

And that is it for that day. Looking over the schedule I have from two weeks ago, they only offered the Discovery Club at night on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Hope this helps. I know I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to Vero, so I thought it might help to see a bit of the schedule.
