Lots of questions

Thanks for all the help guys, you've been a superb help.
I'm convinced that we could do the holiday without the car. :)
I've had a look at the hotels and I'd probably go for one of the All Stars for 14 nights, I did have a look at the prices for the Universal hotels :rolleyes2 but from past DLP experience we use the hotel room to collapse in after a busy day, nothing else, so I can't justify those sort of prices. I'd prefer to have extra spending money. :goodvibes

Everyone should stay on site at WDW, once in their lives!!!

Er, no thanks!

a) It's too expensive
b) There is a case of too much sugar
c) Lack of freedom

Staying onsite (or at any hotel for that matter) for me personally is akin to being locked in a cell. I prefer the freedom of a villa & a car to go where I where I want, when I want and not have to worry about maid services and other guests. Besides, I don't think I could stomach 24/7 theme park advertising/themeing that's designed to get you to spend your money at their parks - be it Disney, Universal or any other.

I am not a number, I am a free man! :teeth:

Mmm, have to say that I, somewhat, agree with AndRu on this one ;)

We stayed 5 nights at the CSR last year and, although I am glad we tried it, I wouldn't rush to stay onsite again :)

I enjoy the whole US experience, not just the parks so, for me too staying, at least some of the time, off site - with or without a car - is the way to go :goodvibes

We have stayed both 'off' and 'on' site, and we enjoy every trip to the US, whether its driving 3,500 miles from canada to key west (and back)!, or staying for 1 or 2 weeks on Disney. I think it all depends on various things. We always have a car (I agree, I would feel trapped without one); the ages of the kids (the kids loved staying on site when they were of an age to appreciate it); and what it is you want to do!
But I stand by my thread - until you have stayed 'on site' you can't knock it. As for too much sugar - we are very health conscious, and seek out healthy eating and drinking - you've just got to know where to look for it!

It does depend on your personal preferences, as long as we all have a brilliant holiday that's the main thing - for the record though I am with AndRu , we love a villa.
However, we are staying at the Boardwalk for part of our August holiday so we have both sides covered.

Having a car does give you that freedom to explore, which is why for us renting one is a must.
