Hi,

well I just called Disney for the first time - oeeeerrr!!!! and booked a Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood & Vine.

The chap at the other end of the phone sounded like he had just come out of training and had trouble finding it on the system. Anyway at the end of the call he confirmed the date booked and the size of the part and gave me a reference number so I'm happy enough. However we have this booked for 4pm - he said it was the only option the system gave him. He tried putting in other dates to see if there were other time option available but said he could only book it for 4pm. It was a little earlier than I had expected and he said he thought it would have been later than this too.

I just realised too afetr talking to my husband about this that we aren't even sure what we have just booked!! lol!!! I know its our grub at Hollywood & Vine but what is Fantasmic and what does the Dinner Package entitle us to with regards to Fantasmic?

If anyone who has done this could shed some light, it would be very much appreciated!!!!

PS - i was also expecting him to take our credit card details but didnt

THe FDP gives you access to a reserved seating area for the Fantasmic show on the evening of your dinner :)

I believe you go to a special entrance to the Fantasmic theatre about 30 mins. before the show starts.

H&V is an all you can eat buffet, as you probably know. The Fantasmic Dinner package covers that and when you are seated you are given tickets to enable you to sit in a reserved section of the arena. Last year they did take my credit card number but didnt debit anything. It used to be the case that unless you cancelled 48 hours before, then they would debit your card if you didnt show. I guess that isnt the case anymore!

You dont pay anything "extra" for the FDP so if its cancelled due to the weather (as ours was :( ) then there are no refunds.

Allie

PS: Edited to add...I always make a quick call to WDW-DINE a few days before I leave to check all my PS numbers are correct and correspond with the right meals at the right times. It can save a lot of hassle if a CM has made a mistake with anything....they have a bit of trouble with our accents sometimes and mistakes are quite common!!

I booked my FDP last week and was able to get 6pm, which I thought was pretty good as the Fantasmic show that night is 9pm. The guy on the phone sounded so relaxed he was almost horizontal - I was a little concerned about the cost of the phone call, but I suppose it's just a drop in the ocean...
I understand that Priority seating is just a reservation which you are under no financial obligation to attend.
I also booked a character breakfast at the same.
He definately took my credit card details for one of them
Now I'm confused, but I think it was for H&V, can anyone help?

:thewave: :thewave: 9 Days to go!!!

The only breakfast they take a CC for is Cinderellas Royal Table. If that wasnt your brekkie that you booked then it must have been for the FDP. In that case, if they ARE still taking a CC number, Lisagirly, you will need to call WDW-DINE again to check you do have the correct PS.

I'm so green with envy lisagirly. Fantasmic is my favourite show of all the wonderful shows that Disney present and has been since 1997 when we saw it for the first time in DL California. I've seen it lots of times since and it never fails to leave a lump in my throat (that first time I saw it I even had a tear - but don't tell my kids). The show features live action as well as moving pictures projected onto a water screen. I won't spoil it for you by saying what happens although there are a number of websites that do, including pics. But don't be tempted by them before you've seen it live - it really would lessen the impact.

In fact I have to say it doesn't affect everyone quite the same. A couple of years ago my wife's sister and family saw it for the first time and I got the feeling they were wondering what all the fuss was about afterwards. However if you are truly into the romance of Disney, not to mention Mickey Mouse then this show will leave you spellbound.

Although Disney maintain that all seats in the huge amphitheatre are equal for viewing, in my experience this is definitely not true. This is where you have scored. Your dinner package gives you seats in a reserved area to the right hand side of the arena where the view and the effects can be enjoyed to their best advantage.

Enjoy!:wave2:

I booked a FDP at H&V about a week ago and I definately gave my CC details cos I asked what would be charged to it. I was told nothing if we turned up on the day.

and I quoted the booking number. They did have all our details except for the CC details. So I gave them it over the phone. I also queried the 4pm PS but the lady on the phone said it was defnintly the only option. She was really nice and said it wasn't a proble, we just had to plan our day and it meant we could take our time and maybe have a bit of a spare time between the meal and Fantasmic.

One other question - what time actually is Fantasmic? I wasn't told this.

Thanks

It depends on the time of year. When we were there in the summer there were two shows, one at 9pm and one at 10.30pm.

You will need to check the show times which are usually up a month in advance.

Have fun!

Lisa, I assume you've made this 90 days (or roundabout) out?

This is normally the standard window for PS's they give this early on (which is why they didn't give you a time for the show when you called either) - try calling back when the official park hours (and therefore the official Fantasmic times) are released, it should open up some later slots - till at least 6-6.30 at any rate :)

Also, in case you don't know, the FDP is usually only for seating in the first show if there are 2 shown in the same evening as the later show is nowhere near as busy.
