I posted on the resort board that we wanted to stay in the VWL again. We went thru WDW the last time and it was a breeze to get our stay set up 8 weeks ahead of time.

I've looked on WDW's website and it's showing we can't get a 1bdrm villa for the week we want 11/26-12/2. A few people have suggested renting points and I've read the FAQ but I still have questions.

Can someone walk me thru how their transaction worked?
Do you have to rent all your points from the same person and is it hard to find people w/enough points?
Has anyone tried to rent and been ripped off?
What do you do as a seller and renter to ensure both sides are safe in the transaction
Once you have a resi in the system can you call WDW yourself or does the renter have to coordinate
IIRC, DVC members will be eligible for DDP starting next month - is that right?
Does housekeeping clean at all during your stay if you rent?

Thanks!!!

Its much easier to rent all the points needed from 1 person. Can it be done the other way, sure.....a lot more difficult for the owners.

I haven't read any real horror stories on the board. You must understand that the owner has complete control over his or her points, at all times. So there are stories of non payments made so reservations are cancelled.

Trust each other. Follow the guideline set by the owner if there acceptable to you. So you must get confortable with the owner.

Once the reservation is in the system the owner will give you a confirmation #. With this number you can call member services and book dining, theme park tickets, magical express and just ask questions. Your name will be on that confirmation as well as the owners. The only thing you can't do is change dates, add nights, cancel nights and such.

DDP is available April 1st to us. It is $37.99 per adult and $10.99 per child under 10 I believe. That is per night of your stay and has to be booked prior to arrival.

You will receive a trash and towel day on day 4 of your stay. So mousekeeping does not clean your room every day. You can sign up and have it done every day if you wish, cost wise it may be $6.00 or more dollars a day....not sure..the DVC pro's will know.

Hope this Help...Good Luck
