Lots of Characters, Lots of Firsts but Lots of Drama: Why We Say NEVER AGAIN!! 3/21

just joinging in and i'm subbing!!

cant wait to read about the rest of your trip! i have a daughter who is turning 4 next week and i'm hoping to god that she grows at least 2 inches by June so she can go on a majority of the rides! i need her to hit that 40" mark!

also... .what kind of camera do you have? it seems to take great pics!

The pic's of your DD playing in the EPCOT sprinklers were precious :cutie: I guess I'm a little on the nerdy side too, I like SSE too. I don't think it's boring at all, I find it a relaxing attraction.

Your drama moment #1 over the FP's for TT reminds me of how our group generally interacts :lmao: we'll just fuss at each other over dumb stuff I think for the sake of arguement. Now drama moment #2 you handled beautifully, you were truely under an upset DGM assult and letting her get it all out seemed to help calm her down -eventually. Too bad she trapped you in the booth & your DH had to go get all your food :confused3 If I had to rely on my DH to pick out my food at a buffet I can only imagine the slop he'd pile on my plate :goodvibes

Glad to hear she apologized about it later & it didn't put a damper on your trip & more importantly, that your DD slept through the whole thing. Aren't extended families FUN :rotfl:

Hope you got a chance to get back to see Fantasmic - it's one of my favorites. DS saw it the first time when he was 4, he was a smidge scared but happy that Mickey "wins" so I'll be interested in hearing what your 4 yr old thought of it. Looking forward to more popcorn::

YC/BC/BWI is a beautiful area. When we first bought DVC BC was our home resort. The location is great and I love the atmosphere. We now own at AKV and LOVE it there but would like to stay at BCV again someday.

Drama moment aside, the rest of the day sounds like fun. We've never done the CMC dinner, just breakfast. Sounds great though.

Love that the mousekeeper played along and set up the animals with the TV. Very fun memory!

Epcot is my favorite park and mostly due to WS so I am anxiously awaiting how your visit to WS turns out!

That stinks about the drama. I am a people pleaser and always feel torn when trying to accomodate several people. I can definitely emphathize with you!! I could not imagine going with two seperate grandparents at the same time with my crew!! I know there would be drama!! :rotfl:

I am thinking of taking a break at BC. I have seen pictures on several TRs and I really want to check it out in person! I love :lovestruc Boardwalk and I dream of staying there now so it may really not be a wise idea to visit! :rolleyes1

I am really enjoying your TR so far!!

I do not think I have welcomed you to my TR yet so :welcome: If I have, welcome again. ;)

I am such a people pleaser too. :rotfl: I am not going to lie--it was difficult trying to please everyone on this trip. It started to stress me out so much that I checked myself and realized as long as the three of us--DH, Lilian and I--were happy, then that was what was important. :goodvibes

BC is gorgeous! My pictures do not do it justice. I really did not have as much time to explore as I would have liked but I know we will be back. :thumbsup2 Epcot has been our favorite park since our previous trip--we love it there! MK did not hold as much appeal our last trip (probably somewhat do to the influence of those we traveled with on that trip and having no kids at that point) but after this trip, I would say MK is almost as high up as Epcot now. :goodvibes

Besides the drama moment, sounds like you guys had a great dinner! It must have been hard for everyone wanting time with Lillian-- especially for you to try to strike the balance and make everyone as happy as possible!

The dinner was great besides the drama. I was so nervous about this one because of whether the group as a whole would be happy with the food but everyone loved it. The food was fantastic!

The balancing everyone was difficult but it does seem to get easier as the week progresses--thank goodness!! :rotfl:

All caught up. Looks very fun so far-minus the yelling. You got some great pics!!

Thanks Mary!!

I love all the pictures you took!:thumbsup2 Great ones of BC! I've really not seen much of that resort, and now the buffet is intriguing me for our April trip......

The pictures of Lilian playing in the Epcot fountain are wonderful!:cutie: I cannot wait until my daughter is old enough to do that! Right now, she isn't even old enough to walk, so it'll be a while!

I am sorry your DGM did not have the wherewithal to privately talk to you instead of making a big scene. My mother can be that way and it can be very embarrasing. Sometimes the filter just isn't there. I am glad that she apologized and the evening ended on a good note. I love that mousekeeping took the bait to play!

Thank you! I have never been to BC before this trip so I was thrilled with the opportunity to experience it and other new resorts. All I can say is the buffet was fantastic. If you are seafood lovers, the buffet is well worth the money because of the crab legs alone. :goodvibes

Thank you! It was a special moment--even though it was such a simple thing to let Lilian play in the fountain. It cooled her off and she enjoyed it so that was important. It was her birthday trip after all. :thumbsup2

You know, it was very uncharacteristic of her to be that upset about something. I will shed some light on the drama at the end of the trip--stay tuned if you like. ;) :upsidedow

Drama moment aside, it sounds like you had a great day. I've been lucky enough to stay at BCV. It's gorgeous and that is no doubt the best pool & slide in all of WDW. I hope you get to stay there one day :)

It was a lovely day at EP! We knocked out FW pretty much that day. There is only one other ride on our list that we did not get to and that will come up in Day 3's account. Care to guess which it is?

I remember your BCV was wonderful! We want to buy into DVC after I finish with schooling (and we pay some of my school debt off :rolleyes1) and unless I really like some of the other resorts better I am strongly considering buying a resell to get BCV as our home resort. We loved :lovestruc the location of it. :goodvibes

wow that was quite an awkward drama moment. Im glad you didnt let it ruin your evening. Its sounds like otherwise a wonderful day. too bad about F but it was probably for the better. You can catch that next time. We missed it too on our last trip. Im glad DGM at least apologized....she probably realized how silly she was being. The heat and fatigue does wonders to people. I cant wait to hear more.

It was awkward as I hate having attention on me and I felt like everyone in the whole restaurant were starring. It was a great day. :goodvibes F! is definitely on my must do list next trip. :thumbsup2

I am sorry you had the moment you did. Believe me, I understand. From the outside looking in it may not seem so bad, but when you are right in the middle of it... it is horrid. I am glad dinner turned out well though.

I love all the pics. On the first trip staying on property at WDW, we were granted some pixiedust: and got upgraded from Pop to YC. It was amazing. It has a distinct smell to the resort. Occasionally I will come across a candle that is similar and it will trigger memories of the resort. The pool is amazing. BC shares it with YC...but it is right AT YC. The sandy bottom is very fun. The flow of water around the pool is awesome. The bed there was the most comfortable I have EVER, EVER EVER slept in. Nice big closest.. entry way into the room. The sinks are not set at the end of the room like many of the resort rooms are, but rather up against the same wall that the headboards to the beds run. The ONLY thing I would complain about is that the bath is teeny tinny.. and that unlike at the moderate and value I have stayed at...I never saw a food court. I know the Yachtsmen restaurant is there...but I never actually saw it. Oh and another thing I loved. The SIZE!!! It is not spread out like most of the resorts..has interior corridors. It was wonderful. Can you tell I would love to go back? It is quite a jump in price though between that and a value. Maybe some day though... :rolleyes1

It was going through it that was particularly bad. When I was writing it out, I know it did not sound so bad but being right there during--it was! ;)

Thank you for your review of YC!! I hope to take time to look in YC at some point. I know there was a QS near the pool area (closest to BC) but other then that I'm not sure. Right now our next trip is booked at BC so I will have the opportunity to explore more fully. :thumbsup2 The prices are high though, I agree. We have free dining booked at the moment so that helps but I am hoping for a 40% as that would be a better deal. pixiedust:

:welcome: to my TR! Happy to have you hear. :goodvibes I hope your DD hits the elusive 40 inch mark but if she doesn't, there are so many rides that she can still go on. :thumbsup2

I have a Canon Rebel. I love it. :goodvibes

Thank you. :goodvibes DH did a scouting trip then came back and reported to me what I could have after my salad. It worked out. :thumbsup2

It is so uncharacteristic of us to get in squabbles but we do occasionally. The heat fried us is all I can say. The stress of balancing everyone too was hard on both of us.

Oh we will see F! one of these days. It is a goal on our next trip to make it to F! I have learned A LOT from this trip. I am planning giving lessons learned at the end to highlight what worked and what did not work for us. :thumbsup2

Love that the mousekeeper played along and set up the animals with the TV. Very fun memory!

Did you switch your DVC then? I know we want to buy into DVC but I would love to get one at BCV or BWV perhaps because of the location. Not sure was we have a while before that is going to feasible--i have to finish school first. :thumbsup2

Our next trip is booked at BC. I am strongly considering doing the character breakfast at CMC. Did you like the breakfast?

We loved mousekeeping played along with us. We thought it was adorable. Lilian just loved it. :goodvibes

I love the shadow picture! great shot on that one...

sorry you had that moment at the resturant; that was one of the problems I had when we went. My parents would not leave my side, but, my dad would pout about the chocies I had made. They kept wanting to go eat at one of the countries in WS but would not leave us to do so. So, I know how hard it is when you are tired and trying to keep everyone happy. My dad had me in tears one evening when we were returning to the resort and they were looking for something in the gift shop and I had made a comment about whatever it was about that I had learned here on the dis...it was just such an ugly remark that the people walking in behind us even said something.

So, as fun as it is to travel with family and friends ... it is just as hard to be with them everyday. Happy to hear that she realized how she reacted and made amends.

Hope you guys have a wonderful new year celebration!
and I hope we are able to all meet up this year; I look forward to the prospect!
:wave2: Connie

Are you returning in August then? Will you be starting a PTR? I have been looking at costs to go back for the holidays next year... BC is just a bit high...UNLESS a 40% pin comes out. ;) Hopefully some good deals come out as the year progresses. :thumbsup2

We actually sold our BCV contract, our DS was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 and we needed to find money in the budget for doctors, thearpies, etc so unfortunately DVC had to go. We continued to take trips and finally decided that we wanted back in so we purchased again. We totally LOVE AKV and I'm glad we own there but there is a definite plus with the BCV/BWV area. Another benefit for us at AKV is our family of 5 can stay in a 1br whereas in BCV we would have to have a 2br which is more points.

We have done the breakfast at CMC and it was great. The food was yummy and the character interaction was great. I'd recommend it.

All caught up! Staying on top of things is much harder than I ever would have thought!

It sounds like an exhausting day, but a good one. Lilian looks like she had so much fun in the fountain! Totally worth having to buy new clothes and everything.

Isn't that just how it happens, that she fell asleep right as you got to dinner? Good thing, I guess, since you wouldn't have wanted her to witness the yelling. I am sorry for you that you had to endure that in the middle of dinner! I am worried the same will happen on our big family trip (not my mom, she's awesome on vacation. But my sister? Yikes!) So sweet that you didn't have to pay for the kids meal. It sounds like you had an excellent server.

I love the boat ride along the boardwalk between epcot and DHS. LOVE it. The boardwalk is just soooo beautiful and the boat ride is so relaxing. I'm glad you got to experience it. It sounds like you were able to wind down at the end of a long (and sometimes stressful) day. I'm glad!

I haven't read everything but I have read a few posts and despite the drama, it sounds like a good trip so far! Just wanted to say that I'm finally here and looking forward to reading more! :goodvibes

Hi Stephanie! I lost your TR for a while, but I'm not caught back up. Gosh, the drama! I am totally getting why you say NEVER AGAIN! I am taking a large group in February, but since it's just for 4 days and its all women, I'm hoping that I won't have to deal with drama. Although since I'm the Disney expert, and of course the agent, they are all relying on my to assure that they have a great time. I know I can make it happen, I just hope that I manage to have a good time, too!:goodvibes

Hi Stephanie! I'm all caught up again. :goodvibes I won't even begin to tell you about the family drama during our Thanksgiving trip. :scared1: It was by far the most stressful trip of 2010. :sad2:

Your pics are great. We really enjoyed exploring BC in July. I really want to try out that pool with the girls. The location will be perfect in October!!! So close to the action. :thumbsup2 Lilian looks so sweet sleeping at CMC. I'm glad she got her battery charged and enjoyed her birthday treat. Hope you're having a great week!

Leanne

I am too far behind to comment on everything. I love the "sleeping Lily" when you went to Beach Club. I'm sorry, however, that you had that awful meltdown moment with a member of you party--totally uncalled for on her part. We've not been to Cape May for dinner in about four years...I think a return trip...especially with the crab legs back...is a must do.

Hi Stephanie! I've been too busy IRL to DIS for a while but I'm finally back and all caught up. :)

-I LOVE that quote on the back of the Land sign! That is exactly how I feel about conservation and environmentalism. I'm kicking myself for not noticing this and getting a pic!

-I also love Soarin' and am so glad Lilian got to ride! :thumbsup2

-My kids always love any opportunity to play in water and those fountains are a blast.

-Sorry for the drama that you had at dinner. :( At least after DGM was able to cool off and eat something she apologized.

-We had to forgo Illuminations because we were just too tired so I know how disappointing missing F! was for you. It's one of the reasons Disney is a place to return to over and over- it's just impossible to do it all in one trip!

-Love all of your pics! Lilian is obviously having a ball! :goodvibes

Wow, I cannot believe it has been so LONG since I have made it over here to DIS. I do apologize for anyone who is trying to read my TR. :rolleyes1 Life has been busy needless to say. I will try to get something up by the end of the weekend--I need to see where I am at with my next update. Can you believe I am still sorting through pictures from the trip too. :upsidedow

Hope you are willing to stick around :flower3:

We're still here...and promise to be (maybe you'll have it done by the next trip :rotfl2::rotfl2:). Seriously, we know how busy life can get.
