LOST....*WARNING* Future Spoilers

I wondered about the day/night thing too. it was blatant.
I don't think Eko and Locke will tell about the hatch right away...that seems to be the pattern...Locke never even told anyone about the drawing he saw on the door. they seem to keep secrets.... :confused3

I'm surprised that while in the monitoring hatch Eko and Locke didn't turn on all the monitors to at least get a peek at the "others"---And why was the monitoring hatch so small? If they were expected to be in place as long as the people in the other hatches why were they not given the same amount of space?--And the pneumatic tube system leads me to believe that the head honchos of Dharma were there on the island someplace also--And what was up with all the empty notebooks?--You would assume there would be at least one that hadn't been completely filled out or at least one for each seperate hatch for a total of 8.

Also to the person asking about 108

That can be broken down even further//108=10+8=18//18=1+8=9

9 is the lowest it can be brought down to which is the number of hatches on the island--8 regular hatches plus the monitoring hatch or PEARL as it was called last night

And why was the monitoring hatch so small? If they were expected to be in place as long as the people in the other hatches why were they not given the same amount of space?--

Because those watching only worked eight hour shifts. I don't think the "watchers" actually stayed on the island. I'll have to watch the show again, but I thought the guy on the tape said they were to report to the dock to catch the "ferry" when their shift was finished.

2 corrections for the last 2 people that posted:

There are not 9 hatches, therea re 6 hatches and the Pearl, making 7 -- that we know about. The clues to this # are: 1) the orientation video at the Swan said 3 of 6 and the orientation video last night for the Pearl said 5 of 6...so, there's 6 or 7...but not 9 that we have been clued into, anyway. The other 'evidence' to the number of hatches it the map...which shows:

1. The Swan (Lostaways are here - orientation video 3 of 6)
2. The Staff (medical one where Claire was)
3. The Arrow (where the tailies were at)
4. The Flame (we haven't seen yet)
5. The Pearl (the ? hatch, orientation video 5 of 6)
6. Hatch labeled C3 on the map
7. Hatch labeled C4 on the map

The other correction is that in the video last night, the Pearl orientation, Dr. Candal (or whatever his name is) said there will be 2 people stationed for 3 weeks, and to take 8 hour shifts...I got the feeling they stayed there...

The hatch they found last night was not the "?" on the map. The hatch they found is on the right of the map

sorry if someone already posted this

Then why was it under a giant question mark?

I was going off of the dharma logo---which showed 9----8 around the outside and the center---the logo looks eerily similar to the map found on the back of the fire door in the survivors hatch which I believe was drawn by a former occupant who was trying to figure out the island and maybe didn't know all of what was out there and had only written what he had found----I also believe the monitoring hatch was for extended use so I don't know why they didn't show more of it---It just looked like the one room---I didn't see any doors that would lead to other rooms

not sure- If you look at the map, the "pearl" hatch is directly across from the "flame" hatch. Pearl is written with a question mark right outside of the blue line to the right of a hypnated hatch

The cleared circle with the plane crashed at the bottom gave me the impression of the symbol for female. It was a complete circle, wasn't it?

I am pretty sure that the producers, and I will double check, said that they were headed to the ? on the island in thsi episode.

Alright, I'm back from the hunting expedition.

Ausiello: Will the episode titled "?" explain what the... I think you know where I'm going with this....
Carlton: It would be a fair inference to say the question-mark episode is about finding out what that question mark on that map means.

This is from TVGuide.com, here is the link to the whole interview.

What I don't get is why does Eko still want to press the button when he knows it's just an experiment. I know he said he "needs" to, but why. It just doesn't make sense and it looks like he got Locke convinced that he "needs" to keep pressing it too. It's just weird.

I think Eko sees pressing the button as something he feels through faith that he should be doing even though it seems meaningless and he doesn't know why. He has faith that there is a reason. A lot of "deep thinking" in this episode to lead up to the last episode from what I understand. They say the last episode is going back to the whole faith versus non faith idea which this builds us up to. It was Jack versus Locke last season. Sounds like it will be Eko versus someone else in the finally.

ok i called the number and could barely understand persephone???

1-was basic info about hanso org
2-alvars line---broken up by a girl asking--What have you done with him?

4-hughs line--gone for 2 weeks--talked about korean offshore project
5-peters line--fight with irene over the phone then says the threats wont be taken lightly

I guess I can understand that, although I don't like to do a lot of "deep thinking" ;)

I thought they were going to get into why the plane crashed at the end of this season; has that idea been scrapped? Has anyone heard?
