LOST....*WARNING* Future Spoilers

Hi all, I'm just joining in!!

I think Henry is an Other. He is just so weird. Isn't it strange that when he was describing the balloon he mentioned a large yellow smiley face was on the top, a definate 70's icon.? Does anyone think the US soldier who showed Sayid the film of his village looked and sounded like the Other who confronted Jack in the jungle? I love Lost!! :goodvibes

back to Stephen King - in the Gunslinger series & some related books the big yellow smily face was a symbol the Low Men used (bad guys who followed the Crimson King)

I read something somewhere that the producers of the show have based things on old TV shows and books and things. It is highly possible that this is where some of these clues and ideas come from.

All the interlaced stories are driving me nuts. I think a lot of them are red herrings meant to throw you off the path. Did anyone else notice right before they dropped Sayid off in his backstory that the soildier in the back of the truck asked if he was married and had any kids? He then showed Sayid a picture of Kate. The guy in the truck was Kate's step father.
I just got done seeing the episode( i taped it) that was Kate???? And did he actually show it so Sayid? Because I think Sayid would have remembered her from the pciture. He is so smart.

I don't know but I think that guy is a "other" he just had too many details... I don't know. I'm not good at figuring out puzzles-I guess that is why I love this show. and I do think Sayid knows about Charlie because he asked him "So tell me Charlie, have you forgotten?" hmmmm the saga continues.....

Here's all the countdown timer symbols:

Also... did anyone notice that in the scene where Sayid is being shown the video of the village being attacked with gas that there is writing on the video screen? It says Property of DIA... Do the first two letters stand for Dharma Initiative?

Also on the video it says Reel 23 10 8-42... which are some of the Lost "numbers".

:confused3

it looks like some of those symbols are on my Cartouche- a necklace my hubby bought in Egypt written in hieroglyphics...

I don't think that Sayid saw the photo, because I agree, I think he would have noticed something.

It definitley looks just like Kate too. I rewinded on my DVR to make sure.

THIS IS PROBABLY NOT TRUE- but a friend of mine was telling me that she read the symbols are just random words seperately- but when put together in this specific sequence mean something like 'All are going to die'.

Going along the "death" or "killing" idea, ending a computer program is "Killing" it. I used to have to have my user on a certain Mainframe computer program killed pretty regularly because the program stopped working. Since it didn't reside on my computer, the only way to end it was to call an administrator of that program and ask her to "kill" me.

I don't know. I think the look was more of a "Something ugly has to be done about these Others, and can I count on you to get ugly with me" kind of a look. I took it as he was wanting to circumvent Jack because Jack had forgotten what they were capable of. He asked Charlie if he had forgotten what they did to him, ie, hanging him from a tree, kidnapping Claire, etc...

I think it was more of a recruitment look, like he was trying to get support to square off against Jack for this guy.

Thats what I said to hubby!--I said he's recruiting him--Now I don't feel alone

I interpreted the 'have you forgotten' comment as,,,,'don't you remember what they almost did to you? they hung you and left you to die, do you not remember the others can be dangerous!!'

Hmm :scratchin

That makes me wonder that maybe the computer and timer will turn out to be nothing at all. Maybe not pressing the button won't kill everyone on the island, but just 'kill' this part of the Dharma Project (Although, with the way LOST is, I am sure that it would have repercussions throughout the island.)

Hmmm :scratchin

There are so many possibilities with this show that it could easily make me crazy! But I love it!

I have a number of boks about hieroglyphics (don't ask why) and if you take those hieroglyphs as letters, they don't spell out anything (at least not in English). But Egyptian hieroglyphics had 2 ways of looking at them. One way is using each symbol to represent a particular letter or sound. That's the way that doesn't spell anything that I can find.
The other way is for each symbol or group of symbols to represent an idea or concept (like a Rebus). That's probably the "specific sequence" that your friend is talking about. I ca't find one for "kill" or "die" though (I can find one for die or death, but it doesn't look like that).

AS we've discussed we know from the producers that Stephen King has been a major inspiration to them.

People got very literal when they were discussing The Stand like Locke as Randall Flagg, Mr Eko as Mother Freemantel. Charlie as Larry Underwood and then I think he gave a real Harold vibe. Sawyer as Stu Redmond etc. BUT I'm wondering if the 'good' and 'evil' camps are already established on the island and the losties will start gravitating towards the factions rather than just splitting amonst themselves.

Not sure if this was mentioned here already, but in the episode two weeks ago where Locke was flipping thru the books in the bunker one of the books Locke leafs through is An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, a 19th-century short story about a man who thinks he has escaped from a hanging, only to find at the end that it was a momentary flash of imagination before his death.

hmmm you may be right - there do seem to be two groups already on the island - zeke's group and the others...

I thought the same thing. I keep hitting the Tevo back & the picture looked like Kate but I'm not sure it was/or she is very young. Was the soldier kates Step-father... it did look like him.
