Ha! Maybe just a whole page of every kind of spoiler is gone thru a computer problem, but the only one I care about is Lost. So after watching an hour of things that are not just coincidences, I have a nice liitle conspiracy theory going!

Only problem, when Claire's baby is born it would go back to 43, and I can't come up with 5 who have died..
1 The Marshall
2 The woman swimming (Joanna?)
3 Scott/Steven (whoever Ethan killed)

here's a possible connection with the number 42...... the guy in the hospital was playing connect 4, well the game board has 6 spaces up and 7 spaces across, 6 x 7 = 42, the number 42 is the answer to life and the universe according to the hitchiker's guide to the galaxy

dh was at work when Lost was on tonight.... it was such a great episode that I gave him the entire recap as he at supper with me at midnight! LOL

Well as soon as I said the number 42 he stopped me to tell say.

"Joan.. 42 is the answer to all questions, the answer to the meaning of life... that is from Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy!"

He was so gratified to find out that others would see the connection!

I don't think they do but I can't believe it would be very far away given the success of the show!!! I've missed a few epsiodes so I would love to see it from the beginning.

Wasn't there a pilot in the beginning who died after he was taken by the creature out of the cockpit?

I'm guessing the 48 doesn't include the guy that was sucked into the engine. No one would have been able to count everyone that early on. Also, I don't think anyone else knows about the pilot--just Jack, Kate and Charlie. So he wouldn't be counted in the 48 either. So, that leaves....

Ethan--wouldn't he have been counted in the original count?

that takes us down to 44 and we know at least one more person is going to die so that's at 43, just one # off from 42.

Is the "trusted ally" male or female? Jack certainly has one, Kate...and I can see her betraying him, or anyone for that matter. If he dies that would explain why HE doesn't deliver the baby.
