LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

Is anyone else wondering who Jack says "I love you" to next wk? Juliet or Kate? I am hoping it is Kate but i think it will be Juliet...:sad2:

Yeah I doubt its Kate. especially when the previews want us to think that.

I don't think those women in the hatch are anti-Ben. If they were, they would probably have already disabled the jamming signal to hopefully get themselves off the island, right? Charlie's in for a fight.

I'm just guessing that they are not friendly with Ben. Mostly because Juliet told them that Ben said the station was flooded and no one was there. So I think that Ben doesn't want any of the Others to have contact with these "defectors".

Also.. .just another crazy theory here, but the fact that it was two women that confronted Charlie makes me believe that the looking glass station is home base for the women who refused to take part in the pregnancy experiments. I think they confronted Charlie with the guns because they thought he might have been sent by Ben.

All that said... I have no idea why they would still be jamming the transmissions.

even with a rescue we'd still have a tone to deal with with Dharma!

last night was great...next week will be spectacular!

I know a little more about the parachutte lady then I can tell you in this thread....I'm pretty sure some of it will be told in the 2 hour season finale next week.

Prepare for the comming war next week!

Anyone else notice that the woman that Charlie saved from being mugged in the alley was Nadia?

Now how she was in Iraq, England and California is the real mystery. She was Sayid's girlfriend in Iraq, Locke's house inspector in California, and now a pedestrian in England. :confused3

Maybe its not either...I mean, maybe it was a flashback and he is saying "I love you" to his wife or something....Or maybe we find out that he is gay and he is saying it to Sawyer....You never know with this show. Jack and Sawyer gettin it on

Okay, here's my theory that I have had since Season 1...

What if all of these memories/flashbacks aren't even real? What if they used some sort of brainwashing to implant these memories into the Losties so that they could do psychological experiments dealing with the aftermath of a catastrophic event (surviving a plane crash, starting a new society, etc.).

It would explain all of the same people in flashbacks (used the same actors for the films used in the brainwashing). It would also explain the miraculous healing of Locke and Rose (they never would have been sick/hurt at all). We know that they were brainwashing Karl on their work island when Sawyer and Kate rescued him.

What if it is all just a big mind game in the name of psychological experimentation? I know that it is farfetched and I'm sure that there are plenty of holes in my theory but it is one I can't shake.

Just a thought.

Stuff like this really makes me think this has to do with time travel, which would explain how she can get around so much.
I was also thinking, when we see flashbacks, is it possible that we're seeing it from the Others' perspective? In other words, are the Others going back in time to learn about the Losties and the flashbacks we see are when the Others go back in time:confused3

Or it could be that she escaped from Iraq to England then moved to the US. ;) I know there's no fun in that theory but she knew Sayid when he was still in the Repulican Guard. And we also really don't have a timeline of when all these events happened.

The one thing though is the Greatest Hits Album. If Drive Shaft put out one album, which it seems that is all there was, how could there be a Greatest Hits. :rolleyes1 That is the one part of last night that made me wonder about alternate Universes and time travel.

I know of a few bands that are one-hit wonders but released greatest hits albums (ever heard of a band called Big Country - whose only hit was also called Big Country?) And the Beatles released two songs a decade and a half after Lennon died. So anything's possible - greatest hits albums are usually really padded anyway.

We never actually saw Desmond's vision of Charlie's death, did we? I wonder if he was being truthful about what he saw. Maybe Charlie was supposed to die in the Others attack and sending him to the Looking Glass saved him from that fate? It seemed odd that Desmond would volunteer to go down and take Charlie's place now that he is so close to being reunited with Penny.

I like the idea of the women being opposed to Ben and the pregnancy experiments. He made it seem like the women were volunteers, but it seems weird that you would volunteer to get pregnant and possibly die when you thought there was a submarine that could take you back to the real world where pregnacies are safe. Maybe they are leftover Dharma people though? Annie is that you?

Well, even The Monkees have a greatest hits album :rotfl2:

ooooh!!! Now I'm thinking, is this the only time we haven't seen the visions? You might really be on to something!

I actually think it is Kate. Jack has only known Juliet at most two weeks and they've never shown Jack and Juliet in a romantic situation.

A little OT, did anyone see Josh Holloway on the View today? He seems like such a sweet guy. He was talking about how he was protecting his wife when they were robbed:love:

I want to jump back a week and put my 2 cents in on that episode.

First of all the black stuff that Lock smelled, did anyone notice that Lock noticed that the same black stuff was on the chair that Jacob was sitting in?

Also there was a profile of Lock minutes before they showed Jacob and they had the same profile...nose a tiny bit different in Locks profile in the shot, but not as profound as when they Showed Jacobs profile. My 10 year old said to me Mom that looks like Lock.

Also believe that Ben shot Lock because Lock was getting to much power. Ben asked his people to stop him from beating up on Mikal and his people did nothing ignoring Bens request to help stop it. In addition to him know meeting Jacob. Ben may be worried that Lock will tell everyone that Ben is a friuit cake.

I believe that Jacob is the Black smoke monster and the stuff that Lock smelled is what Jacob uses to conjure up things. Than when he does not need it it just sits there till he needs it again. I also believe that Jacob and Lock are the same person but in a different time. That is why the smoke monster did not harm Lock when Lock came face to face with it.

Also any ideas on who is still dropping off the Darma Food after all these years and with no contact?

I still think that they are all dead and are there to repent there wrong doings of murder and such before heading on to heaven. They must change there ways. I also think that it will turn out that Ben is not a bad guy but a very good guy, after they make us hate him just a little more.

I sure hope when they finally give us the answer were not all going..."That is it" just that? What a bummer! popcorn:: Again just my 2 cents

I agree, she escaped Iraq during/after the 1st gulf war when Sayid was in the Republican Guard. So that is what? 91? She went to England (97? Sayid lost contact with her 7 years before the crash?) and then was in the US by 2004 when the plane crashed.

In reality, not that much movement for 10+ years.

I feel that through the show the producers want us to think of DriveShaft as a band similar to Oasis. Charlie singing "Wonderwall" just confirms that to me. Fighting brothers. Drugs. 1 world wide mega hit in the w/a few minor hits but more popular in the UK. Then a complete flame out.

I thought last night episode was sad but I've always sorta like screwed-up Charlie.

I think there is some kind of time differential (think Brigadoon). But no real time travel. The producers have always said that Lost lies in the realm of pseudo-science not pure science fiction.
