LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

Napoleon Dynamite

I kept quoting in my head "knock it off Napoleon" everytime he spoke. Of course (yes, I am dating myself) if you remember he was also in Real Genius with Val Kilmer - played the roommate who lived in the closet and won all the sweepstakes stuff in the end.

He was perfect casting as Ben's dad!

Hi - first post on this thread. I just got hooked on Lost, so I won't even attempt to figure anything out, lol!

However, I was wondering if anyone else thought that Jacob was the same guy that Ben met in the jungle when he was a boy and ran away from home? That was my first thought, but I don't know nearly enough about this show to know if that is way off base or not.

He met Michael in the jungle; Michael is the same guy that brought Juliet to the island.

I guess he could be but wouldn't Ben recognize Jacob as Michael?

I can't wait for next week. Last night was great!

Thanks! I'm not even sure who Michael is yet, lol, but I was wondering if jungle-guy was Jacob.

Hey how about this theory…

Annie did survive the Other’s purge and her and Ben were married. Annie became pregnant and like all the other pregnant women we have heard about died. That could be the reason they recruited Juliet. Ben seems so determined to find a cure..Hummm

Hmm, and with HIS mothers dying in childbirth, you've got a whole lot of Freudian theory to work with, too!

I thought the guy who brought Juliet to the island was named Richard, but nonetheless, the guy Ben met in the jungle is the same person that brought Juliet to the island. He seems to not have aged, whether that's just a bad make-up job or part of the show remains to be seen.

Ooops, you are right. Regardless the guy that brought her to the island was the same guy in the jungle that met Ben when he was a boy and that was my main point.

Another question....

How does the whole Walt/Micheal thing fit in with this? Why was Walt one of the "chosen" ones? What makes someone a "chosen" one?

We never really found that out. It seems they deserted that storyline, which I'm hoping they will go back to. I know they were having issues with the actor who played Walt because, since he was a kid, he was aging faster than the series wanted him. I'm hoping they bring Michael and Walt back, just to find out what Walt's powers were, he seemed to make things happen. If they end up bringing them back, I'm sure Walt will be played by a different actor.

Did they ever call the guy that Ben met in the jungle Richard? I'm just wondering if maybe it's supposed to be someone else who looks like Richard.

If it is Richard, and a bad make-up job is unlikely, then he really hasn't aged. Could it be the island keeps you at the point in your life where you were in your best physical condition? So, Locke walks, Rose's cancer goes away, men have high sperm counts, women reject pregnancies in favor of keeping their own bodies stronger. (This doesn't explain why babies conceived off the island are okay though.)

But, if the Lost make-up department was supposed to make Richard look younger and thought they did a good job, they're probably feeling pretty upset right now.

Maybe the original Richard that meets the young Ben was cloned to become Richard we see present day.

If that's the case then Jack's "twin" was the Portugese dude from last season. Locke's "twin" is Jacob. And ratty Richard's twin is present day Richard.

Lots of cloning going on.

If Danille gave birth to Alex on the island, as i believe Danille stated in season 1 or 2, (she said she gave birth then they came and took her baby) then why isn't Danille dead???

As for Ben and Anna, I believe that Anna left the island. When they were on the swings and she gave him the doll of her, she said, Now we can always be together. just a thought

I thought about that too. :confused3

I have a strong feeling we haven't heard the last of Anna.

Either she'll reappear on the island or she got off the island. I do not believe she's dead.

I keep wondering if she's someone we've already met. :scratchin

Because Alex was not conceived on the island.

Isn't it because, like Claire, she conceived off the island? And they said that not being able to have children is a fairly recent development - something that happened since Alex was born.

I like this thought. Good catch!

Maybe Annie is Ben's imaginary friend. hmmm.

Even men in their BEST physical condition don't have 10 times their normal sperm count. I like the theory though....
If its true about sperm count-- Kate is TOTALLY preggers.... I mean, come ON.....!!!!

Does anyone think Locke can be truly dead? I can't wait to see what he's like the next time we see him.
