LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

There were a few things I wanted to look into further once I got a chance, but can't think right now.

I wonder how much Jack knows that he's not letting on. Last week, unless there was something I missed, the only "confession" was that Juliet knew she had the keys but didn't unlock the cuffs because she was "afraid" Kate would abandon her too. Yet very early on Juliet is talking to Jack about dragging Kate into the jungle and cuffing herself to her like it was common knowledge.

Did I totally misunderstand last week? Kate didn't know that Juliet was the one that dragged her out there, right? The assumption was that they were both dragged and cuffed, but Juliet just happened to still have her keys on her, right? If I didn't miss something last week, leads me to believe that Jack knew of this plan to gas, run and ditch Kate in the jungle with Juliet. Maybe not the WHOLE plan that we saw at the end. . . but if Juliet's casually mentioning dragging Kate out and he has no reaction then he knew SOMETHING.

Who was Kate making out with in the previews? I rewound 10 times & I can not tell.

The scene with Mikhail reveals that they didn't know who was on the plane or even where it was from before it crashed so I don't think they caused it to crash. I still believe that was an accident caused by Desmond when he left the hatch to follow Kelvin.

I do believe that Ben thinks the "Island" was providing for him in his time of need by causing a spinal surgeon to fall from the sky and maybe since Juliet was running out of pregnant women the "Island" also provided Claire. As for Sun...I don't think the others know she is pregnant yet but who knows for sure.

I wonder why Sun hasn't shown any signs of sickness yet. Could it be she's not far enough along?

It did seem like they only gathered the info once the plane crashed, but it just seems too perfect that there would be a spinal surgeon on the plane. The other thing that bothers me is the info they find out. How would they have known that Sawyer killed someone right before he got on the plane? He was never arrested for it and there were no witnesses. He certainly didn't tell anyone. I just don't know how they could possibly know that. I wonder if Sawyer was given some kind of truth serum when he was captured and they asked him questions like, "have you killed anyone?". I hope they explain how they get the details on the Losties.
I wonder if there is anyone out there that can get such detailed facts on me:scared:

Didnt he say a list of the survivors? Maybe they knew the plane would crash but not who would live.

If Ben needed a surgeon couldn't they just kidnap one?

#3rd trimester for the sickness.

Thanks. Didn't they also say that no baby was ever born on the island? What about Alex and Ben? He's said a few times that he was born there.

True, they definitely could have kidnapped one.

He did ask for a list of survivors and that to me showed he knew there were survivors. He seemed really confident there would be. How many people generally survive plane crashes, especially crashing from that high up, not many. In fact, in most plane crashes, all the passengers usually die, unless they crash on take off or landing where the plane is still fairly close to the ground.
I know Desmond caused the crash, but maybe it was orchestrated that way. They told Kelvin to go out at such and such time, knowing Desmond would follow and not be able to get back in time to press the button, which would cause the plane to crash. On the other hand, maybe I'm thinking too much about this;)

I honestly don't think the crash was planned. Ben did say there "may" be survivors, and to me it looks like the plane wasn't that far up in the air. It looks, from all the "versions" we've seen, like they lost a lot of altitude without coming in that steep, perhaps the pilots were going to try for a water landing which may have eased the trauma of the crash? There are lots of plane crashes that have survivors - for a plane that large, the survivors would certainly be in the minority.

I think Mikhael just had access to the passenger list and was looking up info on all of them, probably focusing just on the survivors once they got names. I'd imagine Mikhael isn't a one man team - I'm sure there are other Others out in the "real world" collecting info and feeding it down the line to him at a rapid rate.

Did anyone else feel really bad for Sawyer when Jack showed up? He was actually being nice and offering to get medicine for Claire and seemed to be enjoying being the "leader," and you could just see that as soon as he saw Jack he knew everyone would run back to him.

I still can't make myself believe that Juliet is working against the "losties." I kind of figured they were setting it up for her to be a bad guy since the whole episode was focused on making you sympathize with her, but I just can't see her blindly following Ben and betraying Jack. I think she's probably just going to let them both think she's on their side, and then do whatever is in her best interest in a given moment.

I wonder why Sun hasn't shown any signs of sickness yet. Could it be she's not far enough along?

I wonder if she would become sick anyway since she got pregnant before she came to the island.

We know that Claire became sick because of the "implantation".

I think he said 'it looks like there could be survivors' and Mikhal was working on a list of everyone on the plane. They just had to figure out who survived

In my opinion I think they knew the plane was in the vacinity, close enough to be a "threat" and that they were tracking it. As it was being tracked the info on the plane and passengers was being sent to the island.

And I think the reason the plane crashed was because the islands defenses were down and the island went into attack mode and brought it down. The Monster. ;)

During the first season, on the Spoilers thread there were links to slow motion scenes of the explosions on the beach and what appears to be small smoke monsters attacking pieces of the plane. :thumbsup2

Interesting. I was just reading a post elsewhere that someone played around with the letters from the wall when Alpert gave Juliet the sedative. Herarat Aviation, with a little jumbling could be "Earhart" Aviation . . . as in Amelia Earhart? On theory says she crashed in the Phoenix Island in the Pacific. . . Hmmm . . ?

Thanks. Didn't they also say that no baby was ever born on the island? What about Alex and Ben? He's said a few times that he was born there.
I don't remember Ben saying he was born on the island. He did say that he lived his whole life on the island. What that means, I have no idea? Maybe he was hatched or grew in a test tube. And I don't remember about Alex. Did Rousseau give birth on the island?

They had a submarine, why would Ben not leave the island and get treatment? Is there some reason he can not leave the island?

I don't think Juliette's sister had a relapse, I think they faked the test to keep Juliette on the island.

How do you think Jack will react when he finds out what Juliette is up to?

Was anyone else wondering why it took Claire so long to get sick, if she had stopped getting the shots before she had the baby? Before we found out I was wondering if there was another other giving her the shots. And how was Ethan giving Claire the shots without her knowing?

I don't think they made the plane crash. That was a good question on how they knew Sawyer killed someone, how do they get that kind of information.?

Yes according to the timeline I checked she gave birth on the island and spent one week with her baby before the others took her.
