LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

But maybe they are supposed to be inconsistant. ;) Remember that Desmond keeps "saving" Charlie. Could be it is something like that.

That is a good point. If the writers go with the time warp type theory, that can be used to explain a lot of things.

Now, who else thinks the wig person on Lost should be fired? :rotfl:

I don't think the situation with Claire is an inconsistency either. Even though her mom is in a coma, she could disown Claire for getting pregnant out of wedlock as soon as she wakes up. So Claire could definitely be concerned about her mom disowning her, even though she's in a coma.

I know this is the "no spoilers" thread, so don't answer me if this is a spoiler. My question after tonight's episode is Who is Cassidy & Where have we seen her?

TIA!

(I just don't have the patience for sifting through all the stuff on Lost boards!! And DISers always know everything!)

Check this site for Cassidy: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Cassidy

I spend hours reading Lostpedia sometimes.

Thanks! I never catch the stuff that others do. I know there's TONS of info out there!

Your link was exactly what I wanted...thanks!! Now I think this episode was even better.

I loved tonight's episode. The scenes between Sawyer and Hurley were great:happytv:

I guess the period of time that Kate met Cassidy was probably a couple of years before the crash, because I believe we found out that Sawyer had a daughter and that he left money for her. I can't think of her name right now, I want to say Anastasia, but I might just have Disney on the brain;)

I can't believe Jack wants to take Juliet back with them. I think she was left behind as part of the Others' plan to get information. The fact Juliet had a key with her I think is proof of that.

Do you think the Losties will live in the houses? It would make sense, they would have shelter and best of all, beds!

I feel bad for Sawyer, he won't be leader for long now that Jack will be back next week.

So has Cassidy actually been on the show before? She looked familiar, but I don't remember her from the show. As soon as she said "conned" I immediately thought of Sawyer though.

Wow what a great show tonight. I wonder if someone will come up with some still shots of the monster. I wonder if the Losties are going to go back and live in the town. I wonder if anyone is going to ask Juliet how she got there and how the others got away. I can't wait for next week!

They started off the show with scenes from prior weeks and they showed the scene where Sawyer ripped off his girlfriend, who turned out to be Cassidy. I'm assuming they showed us that so we would know who she was. I'm glad they did, because I would have never remembered her face.

I thought Hurley's speech to Sawyer at the end was kind of odd. Hurley had kind of acted like a leader for the last couple episodes.

It would make sense for the Losties to go live in the houses...so that probably won't happen. And I'm kind of trusting Juliet now.

What I can't figure out is why the smoke monster didn't just go over the fence.

I

What I can't figure out is why the smoke monster didn't just go over the fence.

I didn't even think about that. We have seen it go up in the air. I guess we're suppose to forget that it can fly;)

I was trusting Juliet except that she knew she had a key in her pocket. I thought that was odd.

Maybe the smoke monster just isn't very smart. :rotfl:

OMG I bumped Lost on Tivo with the Disney Speacial. Can I watch this episode on line?

I'm kind of going back and forth about Juliet.

As much as I want to like Juliet, a lot of signs point to her being in on something...like having the key. I also wonder if those flashes of light were her "communicating" somehow with the smoke monster.

Yeah, and she lied saying she didn't know about the smoke monster. And then conveniently, the fence was turned off, but Juliet had the secret code to turn it back on, just in the nick of time.

I don't trust her, but the writers eventually manage to throw my theories out of whack.

Yes she has, she was Sawyers girlfriend in one of his flash back episodes. :thumbsup2

Yes, it should be available tomorrow sometime on the ABC web site. :thumbsup2

And Locke seemed so strange. And I think the reason the monster didn't go over the top is because the force field gave it a big "shock" or whatever it is that the force field does and it just wanted to get away.

My DD13 wanted to know why Mikhail was able to go through the fence before his brain fried but the fence stopped the smoke monster like it was a brick wall??? :confused3
And if the losties could climb over the fence, for sure the smoke monster could.
Seems like a hole in the plot that a semi could drive through.

I was thinking that also...but then again that may not be the case. Remember she is an "outcast" and MARKED for helping the losties...they were going to kill her before jack saved her.

No Not a chance..but I don;t think it's "because it makes sense" that they will not. The DW said they should just go get the stuff and live in the houses. ONE problem....if you were stranded on a island you would want to be near the shore where you could signal a boat or a plane with ease if they passed. This could not be done from the houses. I personally, would stay on the beach.

I don't think we have ever seen it "FLY" or completely come off the ground (unless you count the slow motion screen captures from season one episode one when the guy gets sucked in the plane. )

Also it was never stated how high the field goes up. I know they "crossed" the fence over a pole...but does the field extend upward between the post?

Lastly, For it to go over it would have to be smart, and able to think. As far as we know it doesn't think. I look at it like a bear or lion in a cage. It could try to jump or fly over, but maybe the sting from touching the cage if enough from it to keep from trying.

Great epsiode again ....The Hurley/Sawer interaction was great.
And from our debate last week....looks like Niki and Palo are dead and gone!

As I was explaining as you got the post up...my thought on the subject is this, Mikhail is a solid object, the fence produces radio waves (they scrambled his brain). The monster is a gas, which with enough vibration would easily be repealed (sp?).

You can also think of it as a animal in an electric cage, or a dog with an invisible collar. If I tossed a dog past the invisible fence ( like mikhail was pushed) the dog would go through and be in a heck of a lot of pain. However, if the dog was running and "hit" the invisible fence it would stop and back up as to not keep getting hurt.

See my last post about going over.

That is an even better question about why it didn't go through. Go DD13!

Maybe it had a reason for not going through.
