LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

I think the one from last year was "Beyond the Sea".....somewhere beyond the sea, someone is waiting for me.....think Bobby Darin recorded it. And tonight's was "Catch a Falling Star" catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day.....for love may come and tap you on the shoulder, some starless night, and just in case you feel you want to hold her, you'll have a pocket full of starlight... Perry Como? Andy Williams? someone like that recorded it. (too lazy to google!)

It was Perry Como who recorded it

Aaron is supposed to be what, no more than a couple months old at the most, right? The faded parts on the wall in the nursery where the stencils or animals or whatever they were used to be....that doesn't seem like it could happen in just a few months, does it?

I was thinking about that too. Is it possible that was Alex's nursery way back when, when they took her from Danielle? I know the nursery was done in blue, but maybe when they heard Danielle calling the baby Alex they assumed it was a boy. I know, I'm reaching here ;)

Number find: On the vials Ethan was using there were the numbers. (Although Desmond had numbers on his vials, too.)

I think something is up with "time" on the island. It's just this feeling I've had all along. But of course that can be a billion different things, too.

I thought it looked like the nursery had just been stripped. All of the posters/stencils taken down leaving a faded spot on the walls.

When Kate found the makeup kit it made me think that "the others" had to have just recently abandoned the facility. Zeke threatened Jack and Kate just a few days/weeks? before this episode happened.

I'm thinking it's been abandoned a long time. Both my DD12 & I noticed that there were several instances where Claire had to brush through spider/cobwebs. Those webs don't just appear overnight, it takes a long time. We leave our cabin unattended for months at a time and we never have to push through cobwebs when we open up in the spring, thank god!! Oh, and the clothes in the locker had been there so long that they were falling apart. Remember the hat?

I thought the falling apart clothes appeared to be "costumes". If the "others" were trying to appear as if they had been on the island for many years with no relief they would have clothes that were in bad condition.

Cobwebs appear in my house overnight - I think it just depends on the environment you are in. My cleaning lady comes once a week and I had some major spider webs going in one of my windows in just a little less that a week.

OOOOH, the costume thing makes sense...
And the spiderweb thing, dear lord keep me away from Ephrata! ;)

RE the costumes...My DH seems to think that maybe the others aren't actually living on the island. They have the costumes to make it look like they are. :confused3

This would make sense to me. That would explain how things like new appliances would get there. And how all that furniture in the nursery could be gone so quickly. My dh says there was a door across from the nursery which was marked "escape hatch." I totally missed that. Did anyone else notice it?

Okay, I rewatched it last night.

In regards to timing: At the beginning Jack makes it a point to say that in the two months hint hint that they have been on the island, no one has gotten sick.

Then when Claire is talking to Libby she makes a point to remind everyone that two weeks after the plane crash Ethan took her. She was gone for two weeks so that would mean that Aaron is actually a little less than one month old.

So then they show us the hatch and it's in shambles, lights out, cobwebs. etc. and especially that nursery.... just seems to me that it would take a lot longer than 1 month for it to look that way. Not to mention the hatch door is grown over. Of course, it doesn't actually show Ethan taking her out that door in the episode, so there very well could be another door to the outside that wasn't shown, but she remembered how to get to it after she sees that weird log where they were talking.

Hmmmm....I say that there is definitely something up with time on the island.
Why would they go to all the trouble of basically reminding us that it had only been one month since Claire was in that hatch last?

I know someone mentioned this earlier but what if when the timer went down to zero, that made *something* happen with time. Zeke and his crew appeared in the woods before the timer went to zero. Bear with me: they could have come back, put their disguises up, timer goes down, they bail, I don't know. I'm just reaching here, somebody help me out.

When I saw Eko cutting down the trees, I mentioned to my husband that maybe he was going to build a church since he is now a priest, or maybe an altar, or something along those lines.

I wish I had this last episode on tape - I thought that when Claire found this other hatch that it was covered in vines but there was a tarp over it. Like it was hidden - not really grown over from a long time of neglect.

I think you're right! She did pull a tarp off of the hatch.

And could anyone make out what the symbol was in the center of the Dharma logo? It almost looked like that symbol that you associate with the medical field, the one with the snake entwined around a pole. I don't know what it's called though.

I know last night was a repeat, but did anyone else feel there is a connection between the toy airplane Kate had and that baby toy with all the airplanes on it?

I suppose there is a good chance of that. But why on earth would anyone put a toy plane in a safe deposit box? That is just so strange.

The toy plane belonged to her childhood friend the man she loved that she said she killed. I can't remember if the friends wife put it in there or if it was the Marshall.

They may have played that episode last night because of the planes from last week. I was reading the review on TVGuide.com today and the reviewer was commenting on the randomness of them showing that episode.

I wondered the same thing.

Great.

Something else to try and figure out. As if there's not enough already.

My poor brain just can't take anymore. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Somebody please, please, please tell me tonight is not a rerun.....

On the previews it showed, I believe, Sun telling Sawyer she needed a pregnancy test. I'm not sure why she thinks he would have one. Do many people travel with pregnancy tests?
