LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

It wasn't that big of a deal. It was a scene with Shannon and her stepmother clearing up the food after her dad's wake. Her step mom made some comment about 'who brings stroganoff to a wake???' Then Shannon says how much her dad loved stroganoff. Then the SM says, somewhat nicely, that 'I did love him very much'. Shannon says "so did I". Then right after that sentiment, her SM says, 'so when are you leaving?'

Nice!

Was anyone else distracted by Boone's hair in this episode? I couldn't get over how much he looked like Rob Lowe at times!

Suzi

me too!! All I could picture in my head was Rob Lowe in the movie Class!

Am I the only one bored with the flashbacks? Now they are adding another group of survivors, will they do all of their flashbacks too?

I just think it was cruel to kill Shannon after Sayid had told her he loved her. I think the writers just want everyone to suffer. I am slowly losing interest in it. I need to care about the characters to tune in every week and if they are just going to kill them off why waste my time?

ITA! I loved the original group of survivors and was getting into Sayid and Shannon as a couple. Actually Sannon was one of my favorite characters because she really seemed to have a complex past that they could explore.
With that said, I really am not "into" any of the newly discovered survivors, especially Michelle Rodriguez's character of Ana Lucia. I think they don't have enough time as it is with the original cast, let alone a whole new group. I like limited backstories but not on a whole new cast! I just want Shannon and Boone back! Sayid was just so sweet last night. I was expecting more of Shannon's backstory before she got killed off. I really want to stay interested but if many more of my favs gets killed off or they keep going down a disappointing plot line then I may have watch something else. Oh well, at least I can still come here and read everyone's thoughts and ideas.

I like the backstories. Just like last night, when Shannon and her SM were in the hospital hearing the news that dad had died, Jack walked by the surgeon and was just barely on screen on the right. I LOVE those easily-missed but really neat points.

A lot of people have compared this show to Twin Peaks as far as being really outside-the-box. It seems like the island is the central character, not the castaways, so they are expendable to a degree. But I do like some of the new people - especially Bernard. If you want romance, how much romantic can it get when he broke down after Michael told him Rose was still alive? Oh my gosh, I cried! And they are just "minor" characters. I totally get what you guys are saying though; it's hard to say goodbye to the favorites. None of my favs are out yet, though, so I'm still interested. I DON'T like Ana-Lucia. She irritates me, and I agree - not a skilled actress. Maybe when I actually see her be vulnerable and not one-dimensional next week I'll like her more. I am excited to see how it's been for the other castaways.

Just my two cents. I still love the show and I hope it keeps you guys interested too!

I can't remember his exact words, but Boone said something like "Death stinks" to Shannon at the funeral. I thought that was funny, considering they killed off Boone and now Shannon. Kind of like a "wink" "wink" moment.

If they kill off more characters, please let Ana Lucia be one of them!

Exactly. I thought it was total foreshadowing!!

I think the flashbacks are a way to show us about these people before they got to the Island, but more importantly to show us how they are woven together as well.

I am surprised no one has posted about this yet, but maybe it is because we are getting use to it now, but when Shannon and her step-mom were at the hospital Jack walked past them in the hallway.

I too did a turn around before Shannon died. I really felt bad for her. I was crying. It was like you could see the steps of how Shannon became the shallow person she was after her Dad died. And what an evil, evil step-mother. I wonder if it is really true that the Dad didn't leave Shannon anything or did the step-mother lie to keep it all for herself. But I guess we will never know because they won't have any need to show flashbacks of Shannon or Boone :guilty:

I kinda of wish they would hurry up and get the 2 groups together because I really miss the original cast and their stories. This season definitely "feels" different than season 1. Seems like all this is taking too long. The writers better not add even more people in season 3 and we spend half of that season getting to know the "new" people. Oh well, of course I will still watch, so who am I kidding.

.
I'm pretty sure someone did mention it. But, I think you're right that we're so used to seeing these things. It's like the numbers. I was so sick of everyone talking about the numbers. Yes, they're going to be everywhere. We as viewers know this; it's not special anymore.

I think the clinical phsychologist might be a possible Sawyer love interest as well. I also could see her showing up in a Hurley flashback.

I could see Libby with Michael. Not sure if that is what is intended or not. Of course, now there is lonely in-need-of-therapy Sayid, too. sigh. I'm just so upset that they killed Shannon off. There was so much that could be still be done with both her character and with her relationship with Sayid.

I really wonder if there is anything that they will do with Ana Lucia that will redeem her in my eyes. Seriously.

I bet she has a sob story we have to sit through coming up. I can't believe she killed her...........

I was so shocked last night, as I didn't read the spoilers.

This is the part I don't get. Maybe I missed something.

Ana Lucia was with the whole group as they were walking. Shannon was yelling "Walt! Walt!" So I don't understand why Michael, Sawyer, or Jin didn't hear that?

my guess is ana-lucia was a bit ahead of them. and her calls were quite likely drowned out from the rain...it was quite a downpour. notice how bad things always happen when it rains?

ding ding ding! that would work. as it sits now, I'm ready to pop popcorn and smile as The Others torture her. sigh. so wrong.

Who was Ana-Lucia calling for when they were getting Sawyer up that big hill? Did she say Cindy or something? Maybe I am confused but I thought maybe this was the person that was going to be killed off at that time.

Yep, she was looking for Cindy (the stewardess). Who knows what happened to her.

no spoilers please, but when do ya'll think the "monster" will make it back in. Haven't heard hyde or hair out of it lately.
