Can't beleive it, arrived home yesterday after 15 days in WDW, in tiredness/letting the taxi driver unload the trolley I left my laptop(with about 1500 photos of our holiday on it), a video camera with 4.5 hours of tapes and my digital camera, on the back of the luggage trolley. Just been in touch with the police, no sign,. Waiting for lost property to get in touch.

I'm not bothered about the value (honestly, I couldn't care less, they are insured), but the photos and video are priceless, as you will understand.

I know there are plenty of people like me out there that would hand it in immediately, here's hoping.

There was some identification with the stuff so they could even just send the tapes/memory cards. The PC is encrytped and password protected so even a theiving kind sole wouldn't be able to access the photos and send them on.

A little dust would be great just know, feeing pretty peeved to say the least, I'm a grown man but this has brough tears to my eyes.

2Point,

Am so sorry to hear of your misfortune, easily done after a long tiring flight. Can totally understand about the hardware - you just want your photos back.

Am keeping my fingers crossed for you that all items turn up.

I hope they get returned, as you say the pictures are priceless.

Keeping our fingers crossed.

Just got through to the airport after many attempts from various angles (damn those slection menus!)

Good news, they have the property, hopefully it will all there.

Thanks for your support and words of kindness, they really did help.

I'll update later, hopefully the persons who handed the stuff in can be contacted so we can thank them in some way.

:D

I'm so glad to hear that youve found your property! must of been heart breaking thinking youd never get it back.
GREAT NEWS :cool1:

Delighted to hear your good news. It does restore your faith in human kindness to know someone has had the decency to hand in your property.

Brilliant news - I hope you find that everything of importance is there. There are still some amazingly honest people around - it's just that we always here of the dishonest ones. Enjoy your photo's etc.

GREAT news that they have located your stuff! You must have jumped for joy when they told you :-)

I had a similar thing happen after my first holiday to Orlando- we got everything home OK but then our house was burgled 2 nights after we got home. They took my camera and video camera - so I lost the film in the camera & the tape in the vid cam. I was so gutted - kept hoping that the burglar would get the film developed and post it back to me lol - of course they never did :-( I was particularly gutted to lose some photos of my kids hand feeding giraffes at one of the zoos (might have been Silver Springs? can't remember now, it was a long time ago).

Ah well - just about got over it now (it was nearly 15 yrs ago!)

Flo

PS sorry to be such a newbie - but how do I put the countdown thing on the bottom of my post? Can't see anything in Profile set up....

All the stuff was returned without loss. It turned out that one of the security staff picked the bags up as unattended baggage, thankfully they put the baggage in the safe instead of blowing it up!

I'll be writing a letter to the airport director to thank him and his staff for their professionalism, highlighting the fact that they didn't just do their job, they have saved the momories of our daughter.

I'll be putting a cheque in the letter for the airport to donate to whatever charity the airport supports.

Thanks again for your kind words, after what has been on the news just recently I do feel a little ashamed that I was upset about the loss of memories when so many have lost so much more.

I really feel for you, what an awful thing to happen.

The countdown can be added into your profile by editing the user cp, there is a sticky somewhere with the instructions, I'll have look and post the link here.

I'm so pleased that your property has been found safely. I know what you mean about the laptop etc. Things can be replaced but you can't replace videos and photos.

2 Point - thanks for the info about the countdown.

Very complicated, but I THINK I've set one up (if nothing comes up under here when I press 'post', I guess I didn't do it right!)
