lost luggage during transfer...

we were stayiing in Gf for our honeymoon, then we went on cruise for 5 days, (we were told that we cannot take our four luggage (wedding gown...and stuff) on board) so we asked the bellman to store the 4 luggage that we had in GF, and transfer to AKL when we are back... on the luggage transfer tag, it clearly stated 4 luggage
when i got into AKL's room, there were only 3 luggage... i called bell service at AKL, they said they will investigate. still no reply after we checked out. i called twice afterward, tehy said someone will be calling me back.. no one...
what can i do?
i suppose i lost that luggage.. and no compensation, right?
 
I can't help much but I wanted to say how awful for this to happen on your honeymoon. I hope they didn't lose your wedding dress!!!! :grouphug:

WOW that is awful. Something similar happened to us on a transfer. Our bags were to go from concierge at the Yacht club to concierge at the Poly. When our luggage was brought to our room we were short a bag. Which I might add the bell services did not even notice. Makes you wonder why you fill out everything and mark how many bags. When we called to find out where our bag was Poly bell services was very unconcerned and did not follow up at all. I finally out of desperation called the concierge service at the Yacht club who sent some one out to follow the delivery trail of luggage that previous day and they found it in storage at another hotel and brought it to the Poly for us. If it had not been for the help of the concierge service at the Yacht club I do not know if the bag would have made it back to us. Bell services at the Poly did not follow up at all nor did the hotel that stored a bag taged to go to the Poly. I would just keep calling you never know where it might be stored.

I'm very sorry that happened. It makes me even more glad I've decided to call a cab and move our luggage with us when we change resorts after the first night though. I hope you get through to someone that can help you and I hope there wasn't anything in it that was priceless to you.

now, it've been over 2 months, no one ever contacts me....i don't know what to do now...
 
call the lost and found department at Disney World and see what they can do
 
hi louisaho, i remember seeing your gorgeous wedding pictures at wdw on the dis wedding & honeymoon forum, i'm so sorry to hear this happened.

i agree with the other posters definetly contact lost & found at wdw 407-824-4245. the birnbaums book says items are only kept there 3 months, so call asap. also call the 2 resorts you stayed at, gf 407-824-3000 & akl 407-938-3000. someone should be able to assist you & resolve this.

Call the resorts, call lost & found, call any guest relations you can.

Keep calling & stay on top of it!

Don't get nasty, but do express your dissatsifaction (especially since no one is calling you back).

If you don't keep calling, it is a good bet you will be forgotten. Dont give up & dont let them brush you off.
 
On my first "all girls" trip my coat was lost from storage (we checked out and went to Epcot before our flight). HAD to leave to catch our plane so bell services gave us his number.

After only 2 phone calls (which I initiated) I was compensated the entire price of the coat.

Of course the fact that the Bellman actually remembered there being a coat must have helped.

Keep calling and try to make a list of what you lost in that piece of luggage.....due to my own experience I believe they will compensate you!
 
Oh no! I feel for you.

But thinking they cannot get luggage from one resort to another resort makes me even MORE positive I will not use Magical Express! Between this and the airlines, think I should just stick with carry-on too!
 
Well what do di you get in documenation. You should have spoken to a manager then and made sure they understand the issue. At this point it is your word against Disneys that you didn't get piece four.

For the future if this happens to anyone deal with it them... Volunteer to go into BOTH luggage rooms and look for it. (Have you called the GF? I found thier bell staff to be pretty bad so I can see it lost in their luggage storage!)
 
I'm so sorry! Please don't give up! Call, write, email (both individual resorts, lost and found, and the wdw resort president). Be pleasant, but persistant. Did you keep a copy of any paperwork? Was your luggage tagged with a disney tag and another tag? I am sure it will turn up once you get somebody's attention :wave2:
