Hey all, A friend of mine is currently at WDW and she lost her license Day 1. They are scheduled to fly home Sat Oct 23, 2010. Does anyone know what she will need to do in order to board the plane?

Thanks for any help!

From the TSA web site:

Passengers who do not or cannot present an acceptable ID will have to provide information to the Transportation Security Officer performing Travel Document Checking duties in order to verify their identity. Passengers who are cleared through this process may be subject to additional screening. Passengers whose identity cannot be verified by TSA may not be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint or onto an airplane.

In other words, show up early, and bring plenty of patience.

As the other poster said, lots of patience and willingness to cooperate with TSA authorities regarding secondary screening.

Remember...its not the TSA's fault that the license was lost, and that should be kept in mind when dealing with the screeners. Any type of reluctance on the part of the passenger can be grounds for denied access to the flight.

As already said, patience, expect secondary screening, etc. You can also ease your pain by taking as much documentation as you can, like credit cards, library cards, etc. If she has a photocopy of her license, those types of things will help in getting through the process. She also should consider getting a police report for the lost license (if they will do one, many departments won't do a report on lost items).

What's her DMV's policy on replacement license? How long would it take, would they mail it to her? Does she have a passport at home and if so, does someone have access to her house and could they overnight it to her?

If you get a copy of a police report regarding the lost license it will go a long way. I imagine you reported it missing, start there for getting documentation that you had a license. The police can give you a copy of the report and your DL to present at boarding.

It happned to my GF a while back it was a big hassle.

Not a big deal at all. She will have to go through secondary screening at the security check point but thats it. It might take an extra 5-10 mins.

Perhaps contacting her local DMV might be helpful, certainly can't hurt.
Maybe they can fax or email a copy to her.

Good Luck

Agree, this just happened to my nephew age 19, Oct 16th. He lost his ID the night before he was to fly out. I found the info on the TSA site and told them to show up early for secondary screening. He had his BC and SSC and he was flying with his grandmother. He also had his KTTW from DCL and DVC.

Because he was on the same flight confirmation as his grandmother, and she was there to vouch for him, as well as his other documents, the process lasted less than 5 minutes. He was advised not to exit once he was admitted thru security so they had a bit of a wait. Definitely get there early jic.

Having round trip tix and flying on the same itinerary with his grandmother seemed to be the most important factor.
