LOST - Last Season (NO SPOILERS)

TWO WEEKS with no Sawyer??? What is UP with that? *sigh*

At first I thought Sun's reaction to Hurley and Jack was a bit overdramatic, until I realized, this is the first time she is seeing them since they got on the plane to go back. Do we have any idea how long they have been back on the island? It's only been a few days, maybe a week, right?

Any idea how Alex would be in the states going to school? Her mother was French, correct?

Well, since Ben and his father mentioned leaving the island in the sideways timeline, there's no reason to not believe others were able to leave the island.

Actuallly, I don't think Rousseau's ship would have crashed. In 2004, when they found the SOS signal, it had been on a loop for 16 years. That means she crashed in 1988.(the island no longer existed) The sideways timeline, she would never have been on the island. My point it, she didn't come from the USA. Fate just happens to put her and her daughter in the US? Oh and she still ends up a single mom? If her and her husband were never on the island, he wouldn't have died there.

That would be okay, but I needed one little line thrown in about it. I know the dynamite scene was all exciting and dramatic, but one little line to Hugo about trusting Jacob and I would have been satisfied. :thumbsup2

I thought Jack's "epiphany" occurred in the scene with Richard and the dynamite. Anyhow, I thought the whole show was great!!

I felt like he was testing his epiphany, but that he actually had it before that. :confused3

But I agree, I still LOVED the episode!:lovestruc

In the sideways timeline, Ben's father mentioned that he wished they would have stayed on the island. So, we know the island existed when Ben was little. The question is why did they leave the island? Was it because of the drilling and that is why the island is now under water? I do not know. All I do know is that this show will probably have me guessing until the end. And, this weeks's episode was very good.

I thought that Pierre Chang ordered all children and families to leave the island.

He did -- at least in the version of 1977 that we saw. However, in the original timeline -- which may or may not be the same as the one we saw in "The Incident" -- both Ben and his dad stayed on the island beyond that point. In the original timeline, Roger died on the island during the Purge, personally gassed by Ben. That happened well after 1977.

More and more, I'm not convinced that the explosion of Jughead's detonator changed anything -- or even that it actually exploded. It was a nuclear device, but it was a detonator, not the actual bomb, and it was at the bottom of a deep hole. If it did go off, we don't really know what effect it might have had under those circumstances. I think it may be possible that simply drilling into the electromagnetic "pocket" at the Swan site might have been enough to to qualify as "The Incident."

Do we know the original purpose of The Swan? We know the orientation film said it was designed "to study and manipulate the unique electromagnetic properties" in that part of the island. Was that actually true? Radzinsky seemed to regard the plans for The Swan, and its construction, as an NSA-level state secret. Why was that? In what way did they plan to "manipulate" the electromagnetism found there, and to what end? According to Lostpedia, the EM at the Swan site was similar to that found where The Orchid was built, but was 30,000 times stronger than the latter. Considering the Orchid was right next to the frozen donkey wheel and could move the island in time and space, what sort of mind-boggling mischief could be done with the Swan's power, beyond making airliners crash at a distance?

Just popping in to say I am 2 episodes behind before tonight's! I haven't had time to catch up on my Lost. Hopefully I'll catch up soon and rejoin the thread.

I don't know how this is possible. I would deprive myself of sleep, skip dinner if the kids weren't here (maybe if they were), give up the Internet, refuse to attend kids' sporting evens :rotfl2:, and/or, even report off work if it was the only option for watching my weekly episode of Lost. :lmao:

I've been so disappointed in this season so far, I'll hang in to the end, but it's just not as good as previous years for me.

My sister and I are huge LOST fans. She comes over to my house every Tuesday night so that we may watch it together. We have snacks and make a big deal of it every week. Well anyway I have been having a rough time of it at work lately and she e-mailed me this morning to wish me "Happy Sawyer Day"! She also told me to help me get through the day I should mentally give " Sawyer Nicknames" to everyone I come in contact with.:rotfl:

If you have not already guessed Sawyer is my favorite character.

I love this thought! I have been wondering whether or not Jughead went off or not ever since last season's finale. There was just a big flash - just like when the island was skipping through time, and when the wheel was turned, and when Desmond turned the key at the Swan. Did Juliet just trigger a time jump and not set off the bomb???
I can't figure out why the island is on the bottom of the ocean in the LAX timeline - a bomb going off would not drop an entire island, intact, to the ocean floor. Did a massive release of EM sink it instead?
BTW - new to posting on this thread, but a bona fide Lost fan since the first episode season 1! :cool1:

In both timelines, all of the children and non essential personnel were evacuated.

In the original timeline, Ben was missing after being shot by Sayid, so there was no reason to evacuate Roger without him.

In the altered timeline, Since Sayid never came to the island, Ben would not have been shot. Therefore Ben and Roger would have been evacuated before the incident and the bomb detonated. I'm pretty sure the bomb is what sunk the Island.

:lmao: Priceless!

I get so upset. As I sit here and think, read, or watch, anything Lost related, I have no one to share it with. No one in my entire family is into it. It's horrible!!!!!

Sawyer and his "Little House," really cracks me up. :lmao:
