I wake up at night in a cold Sweat after dreaming that I've lost my KTTW card/and ID... Any body have any "been there, done that" stories to ease my crazy  mind?

Nope, although I did find someone's drivers license on the ground by the gangway once. I turned it in, so hopefully it was reunited with its owner.

If you lose your KTTW card, report it immediately so that a finder can't run up charges on it. If you are concerned about your ID, go to your state and get a state ID card. It works just like a license for identification purposes, and if you lose it, you still have your license. My husband and I travel a LOT, so I have an ID card and that's the one I primarily use at the ship, airports, etc.

Your state must be different. Most states will issue a Drivers License, or an ID card, but not both. And I THINK there is a provision in a bill before congress that would ban any state from issuing both. That bill's primary focus is to require states to require proof of citizenship before issuing a drivers license. A side effect of 9-11 since apparently all the hijackers used drivers licenses as ID for their flight training, all issued by states that don't require such proof.
California used to require proof, and if you were a Resident Alien, you could get a license, but it was stamped Resident Alien.

We debated after 9-11 getting ID cards for our kids, but our son was 15 at the time, and already had a learnings permit, so couldn't get an ID, and we could have gotten one for our daughter, but have found passports work better.

My DD has a way of losing her KTTW on each cruise while onboard the ship. All she's ever had to do was go to Guest Services and they issue a new one. We've never had anyone use it. :)

We found a KTTW card laying on the ground on the ship. We turned it right in to guest services. I do believe that is what most people would do. Of course if you do lose it report it right away just in case. Also I found it helpful to get lanyards for the whole family so that each person has their KTTW card conveniently around their neck. Speaking of lost cards my daughter who just go her Driver's License went to the theatre at the mall about a week ago and lost it. It fell out of her pocket. So she frantically searched the area, checked lost and founds all around the mall to no avail. We then had to go to DMV and cancel it and wait for two hours there to get it reinstated. Well the next day the orginial one came in the mail. The person who found it just put it in an envelope and mailed it back. So at least we know that someone is not out there trying to use her ID for anything.....

our son lost his on the beach at CC and just had it replaced when he got back on board-he freaked as he wasn't sure how he would get back on without his card-you know how you have to run it through the scanner when getting on and off

Well, I didn't really lose it, just got locked out of the stateroom. :) DH was suppose to be there with the kids taking naps so I didn't take it with me when I went on the galley tour. Well, it turned out that he took the kids out with our friends so I couldn't get in. A CM heard me talking about it to our friend & he said that I could just go down to GS & get a new one. It was painless.

i found a KTTW card on the ground and I also returned it to Guest Services.

Each and everytime you use it (except in the arcade vending machine) you will be asked by the cashier your cabin number. The KTTW card doesn't have your cabin number on it so if someone picked it up and tried to use it, they won't be able to unless they know your cabin number.
