Laurabearz found her DH's wedding ring after it was MIA for about a year.

Who else has lost wedding/engagement rings?

I can raise my hand to both those questions. DH lost his wedding ring many years and one house ago. He took it off and stuffed it in his pocket prior to working on one of the cars. Before we moved, I even borrowed nephew's metal detector hoping to find it in the grass near driveway. No luck. Almost bought him a new one a few years ago but he really is not a jewelry-wearing guy. And he knows he's married! LOL

My engagement ring seems to be lost also. It was never big or flashy but it was a Keepsake Diamond - don't hear much about that brand anymore but supposedly "perfect"; little but perfect. I stopped wearing it every day a few years back but would put it on when the mood struck me.

I went to look for it about a month or so ago and it is not in my jewelry box. I am confident it is SOMEWHERE in the house but don't know where. I have not shared this info yet with DH.

Does anyone have any similar stories - preferably happy ending ones like Laurabearz's story?

Me..............I lost my wedding ring about 13yrs ago & even had the insurance claim ready to lodge & then I found it!!:D

DH lost his wedding ring, less than a year after we were married. He was doing the spring clean up in the yard, had filled a bunch of bags with mud, leaves, and just that yucky debris, then noticed it was missing. He knew he was in trouble so he went through the all the bags. Believe it or not, he found it in the last bag. I think he learned his lesson because he hasnt lost it again in 7 years. ;)

My husband lost his first one on the honeymoon! We were at the beach and he threw up his hand while out in the water, and it took about five minutes before he realized it had flown off of his hand. We made sure to pick him up another band on the way back into town, though.:) Kim

My h lost his a couple of times.

I've lost too many diamond earrings. :(

I can't relate, and hope I never can, but a friend once lost the diamond out of her engagement ring. She noticed it was gone in the house, but feared she would never find it. Lo and behold she noticed something shiny later, on the living room carpet. She bent down to look and there was her lost diamond!! :D Because of that, I try to check the prongs on mine often. I am a very sentimental person, and would cry if I lost mine!! :(

I had a ring that was bought for me while my engagement ring was in the shop. I wore it during a trip to WDW once and then shortly after I got back, it ws lost :( Finally about 2 years later I was helping my dad move something in my old room and there it was :bounce: I had looked all over for it and was so sad when it was gone, but it did eventually find its way back to me :)

I lost an emerald earring once and I never found it :( I've never lost my wedding rings.

I've never lost a wedding ring, but I did lose the very first gift my husband ever gave me. It was a bracelet of cubic zircons so the financial loss wasn't too bad, but the sentimental loss was really hard.:(

I lost my engagement/wedding ring set, 6 yrs. ago. I was preparing goody bags for my DS's birthday and took the rings off and set them aside. When I was done, I cleaned up and I couldn't find the rings. I was so upset, I thought that maybe I had put them somewhere else. I never found them.:( :(

*knocks on wood* I haven't lost mine. I would be in so much trouble, if I did.

I was vising my godmother at Otis Lake in MA. It was late summer and I had a ring on. It had belonged to a cousin. I took it off and of course it dropped from the deck into the lake. I was heartbroken. We searched but in the muck down below couldn't find it.

Then, next spring my uncle was getting ready for the new season and saw somthing shiny in the water lo and behold there was my ring. The lake level had been lowered over winter and they were abel to see the ring again.

My DH lost his wedding ring.

It is somewhere in the city compost pile :(

We went and bought him a new one and a few weeks later he broke his ring finger and to this day still hasn't been able to put his ring over his knuckle. I guess he'll never wear his wedding ring again.

Of course I accuse him of doing it on purpose ;)

DH once gave me a saphire ring. After DS's birthday party, I discovered it wasn't on my finger. We dug through all the wrapping paper and trash, but never found it.

ugh! I'm terrible with jewlery! My diamond solitaire fell out of my wedding set - the prongs wore down. Never found it. DH replaced it the next Christmas with a beautiful Anniversary band (a few years later, I had it checked by a jeweler and he even rebuilt the one edge!)

I lost a pair of diamond stud earrings on vacation once. Our younger DS was just one or two and I had taken them off and left them on the bedside table. We think he did something with them - we searched the whole room - never found them.

I lost a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet in the Dallas/FW airport changing planes on my way to Louisiana for a family wedding. DH wasn't with me - I was with my Mom & sisters. It was on my wrist, we did carry-on luggage only and had to hustle to our connecting flight. Once I discovered it was gone, I filed a report, but I was heart-broken.

It's a wonder my Dear Husband continued to give me any more jewelry!

My DH lost his wedding ring on the first day of our honeymoon in WDW on Splash Mountain. Luckily, the CM's found it the next day!

I forgot to mention that my husband can't wear his second ring either, now. When I was in labor with our first child, I held his hand so tightly, that I bent the band.:) (he made sure to stay away from my side with the second kid):) And, now his finger is much bigger, so it couldn't be worn even if straigtened out. He now wears a band his Dad left as part of his estate!
