Lost in old San Juan!

Does anyone know if we can do a walking tour in San Juan by ourselves, without getting lost? I like to shop, are there any cool shops in old San Juan?

When we were in San Juan we went to El Morro (sp?) the old fort. It was awesome!!! We did not have time to a lot of shopping so I cannot help you there.
