Not sure where to post this so I'll do it here to get a lot of attention. Our trip was December 10-18. Of course, we had a wonderful time. The ground we covered everyday was huge and Disneyworld never fails. It was our first trip since 2008.

But on Thursday, the 15th, we were spending the day at MK when we realized our camera was gone. We had just gotten off Carousel of Progress and had headed to Gaston's Tavern for another LeFou"s Brew and Cinnamon Roll. While eating the Cinnamon Roll, I realized the camera wasn't in our backpack and not on my wrist. It was an older camera but easy to use, takes good pics, and is easy to upload to our computer at home. As old as it was, if it got lost permanently, it wouldn't be a major tragedy. But this was our sixth day of our trip and all those pictures I had taken were gone. The last time we remembered seeing it, we had since done Space Mountain, Monster's Inc., Carousel of Progress and who knows what else. It had been at least a couple of hours. We went back to Carousel of Progress and they didn't have it but they told me to check in at Town Hall. On our way out we did so but they didn't have it and they told us about their Lost and Found building near the Transportation Center.

I called multiple times to the Transportation Center but the "hold" time was always so long, I finally hung up. So the next day, Friday afternoon, we got on the boat from the Fort headed to the Contemporary and then took the monorail to the Transportation Center to try to find Lost and Found.

We found it and went inside to try our luck. I wasn't expecting too much but then again, who knows? I described the camera and told him it was lost in MK the day before. He went to the back and was gone longer than I expected. That told me he couldn't find it. But then, he popped out with my camera in hand. I was ecstatic. Our family pictures were saved! I asked about their success rate and he said maybe half of the people who stop by have their items turned in.

Who knows who found it. Is it someone here on the Dis? I don't know. But that simple act of giving our camera to a CM somewhere made our trip go without one single negative the entire week. Thank you very much. I ended up with 331 pictures by the time that Sunday morning arrived. You helped make every single one of them possible.

I had a somewhat similar experience on our first trip with our children when they were young. My daughter had a favorite stuffed clown that she slept with and took everywhere. Evidently it was jumbled in the blankets of her bed and we checked out not knowing it wasn't with us. After realizing what happened I called housekeeping from our home and they not only were able to locate it but sent it to us no charge.

Glad it worked out for you as well.

Happy it turned out well for you.

The first picture I have on my camera is of an index card with my names, address & telephone number to make it easier to get back to me if I lose it.
This is a great idea.

Glad your camera was turned in and you were able to get it back. Memories from pictures especially at Disney are priceless.

Great to hear you got it back... I recommend the same picture for smart phones and make it your locked screen background. Maybe not your full details but something someone at lost and found can use to contact you. Maybe your spouses or kids number, your email. some alternative way to reach you that you can get to on your trip.

I had 1 experience where I found a bag that obviously had lots of expensive harry potter stuff in it at the resort bus stop. It was CBR so not really convenient to bring it to the front desk but used the bus stop phone (yeah we never noticed them either) to call and waited for someone to come pick it up. We knew it was the large international extended family that had a lot of bags but somehow this 1 was left behind. No clue who they were and hopefully they got it back.
