We were just sitting around on a quiet Saturday morning when all of the sudden DH jumps up from the couch and runs to the backyard and says "Dog!". A little terrier type dog was in our fenced backyard and we did not recongize it. DH went to the neighboors but no one was home so we called the numbers on his vet tag. The dogs name was Max and they were able to give us the address and the phone numbers of the owners. We did not recognize the address as one right around here so we tried calling and never got an answer. I went online and found the address is all the way on the other side of town. I don't know how he got here. :confused3

He is obviously someone's pet. We gave him some water and DH called the vet's office again. They were willing to take him in because we could not keep him until we get ahold of the owners. DH is allergic to dogs and we have two little kids. I know we did what was best for him but I almost hated to turn him over to the vet. I really hope he was being pet-sitted by someone in the neighborhood and was not dumped. We gave them our number in case they cannot get a hold of the owners.

Both of the kids were so excited by the puppy. When DH left DS tried to run after him and DD just sat down and cried "Puppy...puppy...puppy". They were both pretty upset that we couldn't keep it.

So much for a quiet Saturday morning.......

Awwww!I can just picture her saying puppy. princess: Hopefully the owners will go get the little guy soon.I'm sure the vet will takle good care of him :)

I know that alot of people do not like the new mixtures of dogs being bred. BUT my daughter in laws sister ......they are very allergic to hair and dander and all..so they got a labadoodle and life is good for them ......Their three kids are happy with their dog and so is the daddy ......
Glad that the dog had a number to call ...better going to the pound with the animal control officier

Well, the vet's office can contact the owner, and they know the dog and the dog is, at least, familiar with the people there, so it should be OK. My dog loves going to the vet...he gets schmoozed and cuddled and loved like there's no tomorrow.
