LOST.Discuss the current episodes SEASON PREMIERE Wednesday!!!!

I agree that Jin is not as hard as we thought. That back story brought a much more human side to him. Showing him crying after he beat that guy up. And at least now we know (or at least assume) that he didn't actually kill someone like I though before. And I loved the scene with his father. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad last night though, when he told her it was too late. He had already shut her out before he learned she spoke english, he even told his father so. He could have cried with her in the bathroom instead of making her leave. And he could have told her the truth about her father, she loved him, I think she would have believed him. I was just irked the rest of the night that he left her there crying.

Love Sayid and Shannon. What Boone said was totally out of line, I don't think she feels that way for Sayid at all. He's the first person that made her feel useful and important. I think they are cute together.

Isn't Claire way over due by now?????????? Seems that baby should have been born already LOL.

Add me to the list of really liking this episode! I have a new appreciation/like for Jin now. I was very surprised though when Sun wanted to "start over" and he said it was too late. And I must say, on a related note, that Sun looks amazing in a bikini!

Sayid and Shannon...would have never guessed those two together when the show first started but I think they make a really cute couple. I'm jealous!

I thought the end was funny with Hurley listening to the cd player and then it just died. I was wondering how he could have any batteries left just as it went off! Too funny!

Looking forward to next week already!!

Great episode!! I was sure that Jin spoke English but now I'm on the fence.
When Jin beat that guy for Sun's father, didn't he tell the guy in English that "He just saved his life"?

I think Jin had intentions of getting away from her father. In the scene with HIS father, his father told him that he could do the job, make it the last job, and take his wife to America and get away from it all. I think he intended to do just that, but for some reason he backed out from telling her last night.

Pretty sure that was in subtitles.

I LOVED seeing Hurley on the television! DH caught it first and we rewound it to make sure! We erased it from TiVo after watching it, and now I wish I hadn't... it was so good, I could watch it all over again! Not to mention I will need a backup when they go into reruns!

I also though Jin spoke english, but now I am not so sure either. It seems to me that he speaks some.

I am so excited about next week. Who's backstory is going to be next? Man, this show just pulls you in further and further.. It is so GREAT!!

Oh, man, I totally missed that Hurley was on the TV. I think I was too focused on the captioning.

Last night was really good!! I was totally expecting Jin to yell back at Sun in English. Now I'm starting to doubt my suspicion that he speaks English.

I can't wait for Hurley's back story!

I don't think Jin knows how to speak English, but after a month on the island, I'm sure he's picked up some words - like when he spoke to Michael at the end, he said "BOAT", so I think he's learning slowly.

WHatever happened to the black lady?

I guess her role never panned out.

It's him. I just rolled the tape back and looked.

Good eyes to those of you who saw it the first time :earseek:

thank god for Tivo and the instand reply "did I just see what I think I saw?"
heheh

I remember reading on a spoiler sight that there will be a series of "numbers" in Hurley's backstory that are "important"...at first I thought the subtitling on the asian TV were those numbers...but I guess they weren't.

Jin HAS to know/understand English! When Sun was yelling at him in the cave at the end...she was yelling in english "I was going to leave you...but you made me change my mind, yadda yadda yadda"...he then speaks to her in Korean (??) "it's too late"

he has to understand.

still pretty shocked that Walt burnt the raft...and now he wants to help rebuild?

Exactly what I thought!

Unfortunately, I only get to catch about half of each episode but what a great show.

Can somebody give me some back ground on what was up with Sun and the significance of the last scene with her going into the water in a bikini?

Thanks!

No kidding! I keep getting annoyed because she totally looks like a TV-pregnant-lady, not a real one. MY baby has dropped, HERS should have too by now! No fair that she still gets to look all cute-pregnant still.

I totally missed Hurley - but last night was our first experience with Tivo, so I get to go back and look! Woohoo!

I was sure that Jin spoke English but now I'm on the fence. The scene where Michael and Jin are fighting and it showed Jin listening to the others arguing -- it almost seemed like he didn't understand but was trying to learn. He may understand some but not near as well as Sun.

I don't know about that. At the end, Sun was talking to him in English and it sure looked like he understood her.

QUick question - in the beginning there is a conversation between Jin and his FIL that totally got obliterated by a weather alert scrolling over the subtitles. Was it important to the story and if so, can someone give me the jist of what was said?

Claire's is the longest pregnancy in history...They have been out there for well over a month now and she said she was 8 months when they crashed, plus before she was kidnapped she was ready to have the baby any second with all that pre labor..are they going to drag this out all season? :confused3

Also anyone else used to watch her on Roswell? I couldn't stand her on that show.

OK, how did I get this wrong? I thought that Walt's son admitted to burning the raft. When did it come out that Walt actually did it? Thanks.

You have the two reversed. Walt is the son. Michael is the father.

gometros:
Jin was apologizing for a mistake, FIL said no, I'm giving you a promotion. I want you to deliver a message to Byung Han, the secretary of environment. So Jin goes to deliver the message but since he didn't know that the message was actually a veiled threat and that he was supposed to harm Byung Han and/or his family, the message failed and then in later scene you could see the FIL get really mad at Jin. I think that's when he realized that all is not what it seems.

Patty3: Walt confessed to Locke when they were playing backgammon. He said he did it because he didn't want to move anymore. He was tired of moving and that he actually liked the island! Hmmm...

At the beginning of the show she walked out to the water in the bikini and Jin went crazy trying to cover her and shield her from all of the others. Michael tried to intervene and Sun slapped him so Jin wouldn't do something to him. After their argument in the cave when Jin said it was too late, I guess Sun felt free and then walked back out to the water in the bikini.
