Lost annual pass

In the middle of a relocation I just lost a little bag with all my Disney stuff: a few dollars, my DVC membership card, my Shareholder card and the Annual pass for DLP :(

The pass will expire in mid May and I'm planning to go to DLP in late May, so I won't need it before it expires.
When I'll go in late May I'll renew it and hope to get the 18 months duration. Since I lost the existing passport, what is the best way to do this?
Can I purchase the renewal at Guest service and then go to the Passport Office inside the park? Will the AP Office be able to find me and renew with the offer? Or do I have to give some detail to Guest service too?

Thanks

I lost my AP while I was out there, with only a few days left on it (our last trip...sob!) When I went to guest services they initially told me my only option was to renew it with the offer you're talking about. With my passport they were able to find me, and when I was close to tears they agreed just to issue a new pass as I only had a couple of days left of our holiday. From this experience I'd expect that you wouldn't have a problem renewing it, but I expect you'll have to go to Donald's Desk at the front.
I vaguely remember details about replacements being issued if you're not at DLP, but maybe someone else will know about that...

I've just got my AP so I can remember being told about lost AP's and replacements, you have to write to DLP and pay 25 euros but it can take up to 3 weeks to be issued your replacement AP.
