I was fitted for running shoes in March and ended up with a pair of Brooks Glycerin 9. They were great and felt good until about mid-June. I've lost about 25-30 pounds since March and a few weeks ago, I finally admitted that the shoes weren't working for me any more. I developed more frequent knee and ankle pain and a killer pain in my right foot the first mile or so. I probably averaged only 12 miles a week. To me that doesn't seem like it would be too many miles and I only use them for running. Could it be the weight loss? Or, should I expect to replace my shoes every 3-4 months? DH is quite curious as to why the $100 running shoes I bought in March have just been replaced by another $100 pair of running shoes. The Brooks still look brand spankin' new so in his mind "They're still good."
