Losing weight for the mouse in 2015

I am going to WW tonight. I tried doing it for free with an imitation app and I just couldn't do it. I need the meetings to be accountable. I am trying a new meeting- I didn't love the one I was going to before and quite honestly, I feel embarrassed to go back having gained back all the weight (35ish lbs) I lost last time I did it.

:grouphug: Don't be embarrassed. Be proud you're trying to lose it again. Head up and we'll all be here for you! :)

I too am jumping on the weight loss bandwagon. Not sure if we will manage a trip this year. Would love to book a mid December trip but with oldest DD set to start college in the fall who knows if it's gonna be possible.

Either way I think I've finally committed to trying to lose the 20lbs extra that I have always seemed to carry around. Only success I've ever had with weight loss was low carb, but brought myself almost to the point of anorexia 8 years ago. Trying to adopt healthier habits, cutting out my sugar addiction, and increasing my water intake (just this mornig I have consumed about 64oz and probably have been to the bathroom that many times as well!)

Curious to see if any Disboards members have had any experience with the Cambridge Diet? I think it's big in the UK and it's a tempting way to jump start. 20lbs is a reasonable goal to reach by summertime. Hoping to keep checking back here for support.

Good luck to everyone!

I would love to join in. We are headed to WDW in August and would love to drop 20-25lbs. by then. I have had a lot of success with WW (dropped 25lbs in less then 6 months) but unfortunately I fell off and gained back 15lbs.
I am hoping with support from fellow Disney lovers and returning to WW, I will get motivated again.

Took my starting weight and surprised to see I was down 2 lbs from before Christmas. Was not expecting that! Still, I definitely gained about 25lbs since this summer. Ugh. Back on the saddle again and all that jazz.

Anyone use Myfitnesspal? Maybe we could all friend up over there if y'all use it to keep one another accountable. I'm DisneyJessa over there.

I just signed up for my fitness pal. I will start my diet on Monday Jan 5th. PM your email so I can friend you and I will send you my email as well.

I'm in! We're going in mid May. I have about 40lbs to lose. I am about 20lbs heavier than our last trip in 2013 :( Thinking about doing a low carb diet. Never done one. Any tips?

I've done a low carb diet called Carb Nite Solution. You eat low carb for six days then the 7th day you can eat whatever you want. I lost 50lbs in about 9 months. I'm gearing up to re-start that diet. Wish me luck

I'll definitely be joining you guys! I have really struggled with my weight these past few years; I gained 70 pounds in three years. I've tried to lose some of it before, and am successful for a little while. But then I fall off the bandwagon and end up gaining back what I lost, plus some more. I'm sure you all know what that's like :headache: :sad2:

But I am determined to make 2015 the year that I change my life. I am sick of being the biggest person around, and I'm sick of letting my weight hold me back.

:grouphug: I know what you mean. I'm the biggest out of my immediate friends and it's horrible. It's especially the worst when the one who just had weight loss surgery keeps saying she doesn't want to get fat again and then complains she gained weight. It's like you must think I'm a stinking cow!

Is anyone else having a goodbye sweets night? I definitely had a few bowls of pudding today. Tomorrow no more pudding and back to my peanut butter banana ice cream. YUM! (cut up a banana and freeze it. Put in the blender with a TBSP of PB and blend. It's so delicious and curbs all my sweet cravings. My son like it with a small drizzle of chocolate syrup sometimes too.)

Count me in! I WILL lose 20-25 pounds by April 1st. We are going to WDW on the 11th, but I figure I need a few days to figure out what fits and what cute new clothes I want to buy for the trip!

I am planning on fewer desserts and snacks and more consistently doing t-tapp and HIIT on the treadmill. And in late March I can start adding walks outside with the stroller and my 4 year old.

I have already gone organic in most of my food and cleaning products.

Oh, I totally get what you mean about other people's comments. I'm in college, most girls I know are still quite thin, including my friends. But of course, they're constantly saying "my hips", "my thighs", etc. It really makes me wonder what they think about me :worried:Or the worst for me is when I make a comment about my appearance, and my friends are like "What are you talking about, you're not overweight, you look great!" I get that they're trying to be nice, but the reality is that I am overweight- and by a very significant amount. It really frustrates me!

And I definitely had a "goodbye to treats" last night. I baked some cookies for my sister to take to a party, so of course I snagged a few of those. And then in the evening I ordered my favorite pizza, ate some Ben & Jerrys, and drank apple cider to celebrate the New Year

I'm in!! We are not going to wdw till may '16 but I want to start now. I would like to lose 30 pounds by then, actually losing it by this fall would make me happier. :). I am doing ww on my own but with the support of two friends who also want to lose. We are all weighing in on Monday. I'm scared since I haven't been on the scale since last spring. Hope everyone is successful!!

Me, too! My baby is 10 months old and I still have 22 lbs of baby weight to lose, sigh. I'm leaving in 17 days so I just want to lose 5-7 lbs before then (I'll gain it back when I'm there!)

Then I want the rest gone by summer! I'm on My Fitness Pal, too, and my food diary is public. Mbowk99.

Good luck, everyone!

I just re-downloaded the app this week. I used it years ago when we were going on our cruise. It seem to be better now. I just sent you a request. My user name is skinny4cruise

What a great group :)
I am "in". I plan to go back to S4L. My ultimate goal would be 40lbs but I think I am more driven by a "size". If I could get in an 8-10 I would be dripping in Pixie Dust! :):cloud9:

I would love to join in. We are going to WDW in October 2015 and Ideally I would like to lose just 15 by then just so I can feel better in my Swim suit at the pool

Great group

Sadly many people don't think. :( It's definitely frustrating!!! When my friends start doing that stuff I just tell they're ridiculous and then stop responding.

Oh that all sounds so yummy!

That's such a great idea! I was thinking about this morning myself. If I could get down to a 12? I would be on cloud nine!

Definitely know what you are talking about. I'm currently a 10-12 depending on brand, and I just look back at the days when I used to be a 4-6 and just hate the fact that back then i used to think I was fat.

I work in a physical therapist clinic and can use all the equipment in the gym for free but I don't like that. All the patients always want to talk to me and ask insurance question. I'll just walk around the block at home.

I know what you mean. We have a Gym at our work and it's pretty nice with machines and equpment and it's free for exployees and their spoues, and I could definately work out on my lunch hour but i'm just not comfortable with my co-workers seeing me all sweaty.
Previously I lost several pounds (10-15) earlier this year by coming in early and doing a few miles each day on the treadmill and then shower up in our locker rooms, but waking up early eventually got to me and I found myself wanting to sleep in and no wake up early.
Then that went out the window.
I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and work out when other people are in the gym :scared1:
