My husband, who takes VERy good care of his teeth, has been losing little peices of his molars. little tiny peices. 2 so far today. ??? Very odd.

Anyone else have this happen?

Of course i made him a dentist appt. but just thought this was odd.

Is he grinding his teeth at night? Or clenching his jaw?

This isn't normal - how long since he has had dental x-rays to check for decay or other problems?

I don't have any idea. But losing pieces of my teeth is one of my recurring nightmares. Hope the dentist can figure it out.

Me too, it's really strange, he has very healthy teeth. And it's not a front tooth or anything it's a back molar. And it's just little peices and chips coming off. 2 peices today. He might grind his teeth at night. that's a good point. I wonder???? He said the first peice came off when he was eating breakfast this am. And he had oatmeal..so it's not like it was a strain on his chompers.

I've lost chips of my molars many times over the years - it was from the clenching and grinding at night. I've got crowns on what molars I have left - I wear a night guard now to try to salvage my teeth!

If your DH grinds at night, he have have begun the process of cracking his molars. Hopefully the dentist can repair the tooth without having to do extensive work. Good luck to you!

Same tooth or different ones?

In any case - he should see the dentist asap to see what is happening.
